Announces the 2022 Class!

Fairfax, Virginia - Woodson High School announces the Woodson Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2022 to honor former student athletes, coaches and contributors who helped build a tradition of athletic and academic excellence that continues at Woodson today.

The 2022 class includes:

Athletes:

· Jessie Davis (Soccer, Basketball, Indoor Track 2005 (Asst Coach 2010)

· Mike Bianucci (Baseball 2005)

· Aaron Solomon (Football, Wrestling, Lacrosse 2005)

· Deborah Williams Kerinuk (Swim and Dive 1981)

· Jode Osburn Ritsema (Field Hockey, Basketball, Soccer 1988)

· Jose Olivero (Basketball 2003)

· Tim Mangan (Gymnastics 1996)

· Cecil “Rusty” Umberger (Football, Basketball, Baseball 1977)

· Shelly Montgomery (Field Hockey 2010)

· Eric Bowles (Basketball 2015)

· Paula Andersen (Basketball 1984)

Coach:

· Jon FitzGerald (Boys Lacrosse, Football 1988-2012)

· Susie Hamrock (HPE Teacher, Swim & Dive, Girls Tennis 2009-2023)

Sponsored by the Woodson Athletic Boosters, the Hall of Fame is dedicated to preserving the rich heritage of outstanding achievements by student athletes and adults in athletics at Woodson High School. Student athletes are eligible for consideration five years after completion of their high school careers while coaches are eligible for consideration five years after they retire from coaching in Fairfax County. Contributors are individuals who over many years worked as an employee of Woodson High School or significantly contributed time or resources, in each case to the betterment of the Woodson athletic program.

The Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will take place on Saturday March 18, 2023 11:00am - 1:00pm in the Woodson High School Auditorium. The Induction ceremony is open to the public.
