1. A Note from Dr. Goodloe
Dear Charger Community,
As I finish up just a little over a week as your proud principal, I am reflecting on the strength of our school community and the many ways in which our staff, students, and families take care of one another and celebrate our connections. I am grateful for our school-home partnerships and am energized to collaborate to continue to support family engagement and student success.
National School Social Work Week
This week we recognize the tremendous work of our school social workers during National School Social Work Week. Social workers are a cornerstone of connection between our students, families, and community resources. We are grateful to have three outstanding professionals in Ms. Condemi, Ms. Deemer, and Mr. Thayer on the Chantilly Staff.
Cultural Night
Earlier this week,I attended our student led Cultural Night where our Chantilly community came together to celebrate its wide and immensely diverse student population. The evening included tables representing various cultures and countries with samples of food, art, and informative displays. Many students dressed in their respective traditional cultural clothing and shared performances of songs, dances, and improv. There was so much positive energy in the building and I truly enjoyed talking with our students, their families and share in their joy and pride.
Daylight Savings
Don't forget that this weekend we "spring forward" one hour for Daylight Savings time. Sometimes the change in time impacts sleep patterns and routines. Please be sure to remind your students to get a little extra sleep and be ready to be on time for school on Monday. Attendance matters!
Communiation Feedback
How can we best communicate with you about events and happenings at Chantilly High School? What would be helpful to see in these weekly udpates? Please share your thoughts HERE.
I welcome your feedback, questions and input and look forward to engaging with you.
Sincerely,
Amy T. Goodloe, Ed.D.
Principal, Chantilly HS

7. Recent Student Successes
This is the next installment for the school year of what has become a weekly segment aimed at recognizing students for demonstrating recent improvement or achievement in academics, behavior or citizenship. At the end of each recognition, you will see the name of the nominating teacher or staff member. On a rotating basis, departments will nominate students. I meet with recognized students each week to congratulate them in person.
