A few amazing highlights that happened this week...
PTO Movie Tonight
Reminder that tonight is our PTO movie event! We will be inside the school. Please bring blankets to sit on and get there early to get your spot and pick up some concessions. We can't wait to see everyone there!
Movie Time: 6:30pm
Please note that since this event is after school hours, all children will need to be accompanied by an adult.
Dr. Recess is Coming
Bonnie Brae PTO, in partnership with Bonnie Brae Elementary, is excited to offer a series of student assemblies and recess games with “Dr. Recess” on Wednesday, March 15th during the school day. Students are encouraged to wear Bonnie Brae spirit wear or school colors on Wednesday and should dress comfortably for some recess fun! The Bonnie Brae Cheer Squad will also kickoff the assemblies with a brief cheer!
The research-based Dr. Recess “Trouble-Free Playground Program” helps to develop social-emotional intelligence, engages students in highly-active, constant movement type of games and activities, develops self-responsibility and intrinsic motivation, and uses an inclusion style of teaching.
We look forward to a fun and engaging event with our Scotties on Wednesday. Go Scotties Go! Let’s get ready to recess!
BBES Family Learning Night
Join us on Thursday, March 30th from 6-7:30 PM for our Family Learning Night! We are excited to hold a community potluck, learn more about each other's culture, and share information about literacy, math, and wellness at home. Please share if your family plans to attend through the QR code above, to include whether you would like to sign up for our "This is Us: A Cultural Celebration." We will be reaching out to those who register for the "This is Us: A Cultural Celebration" display with more details. We are looking forward to this fun family event!
FCPS Purple Up! T-Shirt
April is the Month of the Military Child and Virginia’s Purple Up! Day is Wednesday, April 19. The FCPS Purple Up! t-shirt is available for order now through March 16 here! Purple Up! FCPS!
Braddock and Springfield District Town Hall
Join Springfield District Representative Laura Jane Cohen, Braddock District Representative Megan McLaughlin, FCPS Superintendent Dr. Michelle Reid, and Student Representative to the School Board Michele Togbe for a town hall. All Braddock and Springfield District parents/guardians, staff, students, and community members are welcome. We hope to see you there!
When: Tuesday, March 21, 2023, from 7:00-8:30 p.m.
Where: Lake Braddock Secondary School (Little Theater), 9200 Burke Lake Road, Burke, VA

Spring After School Programs
After School Programs are coming back for Spring! Registration for community-based programs is now open and registration for teacher-led clubs opens Monday (3/13) at 7pm and closes on Wednesday (3/15) at 7pm. Admittance is on a first-come, first-served basis, and late registrations cannot be accommodated, so be sure to grab your spot! ! Needs-based scholarships are available.

Please remember to turn in your order forms (for sales not made through online portal). Last day to return forms will be Monday, March 13th.
We are still tallying up numbers and will announce the student and classroom with the most amount of sales soon!
