Special PTA Meeting to Vote on Running Club
Join us virtually(linktr.ee/gbepta) on Friday, February 25th, at 3PM for 5-10min meeting to vote for starting up a before and after school Run Clubs (note that only members can vote). A vote needs to take place as the clubs will require funds and our current budget does not account for such expenses. We are also looking for two more volunteers/coaches to help with our upcoming 4th through 6th grade run club. Sessions will be on Thursdays from 4:15 - 5:30, with the intent to build our boys and girls up to a 5K run at the Feed Fairfax event in May. STEM After School Program Coming Soon!
Coming soon to GBE is a STEM program for exCEL Game Design. This will be open to 1st through 6th graders. It will be for seven sessions starting on Apr 20th on Thursday from 4:15 to 5:15. More information coming soon and registration will start next Friday.

Underwear & Pants Needed!
GBE is in need of all sizes of kids' underwear and pants. Underwear must be new and unused while pants can be gently used but MUST be recently washed. GBE staff like to have these items on hand so that whenever students have accidents, they can quickly return to their classroom and not have to be sent home early. Clothing or gift cards can be turned into the front office. Electronic gift cards can also be sent to our Family Liaison, Wafika Albani (WMAlbani@fcps.edu).
Opportunity to Volunteer at GBE
Cafeteria Volunteers Needed
GBE staff are looking for adult volunteers to assist during lunch in the cafeteria. Lunches are from 11AM-2PM but you're welcome to come whenever works best for your schedule, particularly if you prefer to volunteer around your student's lunch schedule. Volunteers are needed to assist with the following: assist with cleaning and wiping tables in between lunch shifts; assist with sweeping floors in between lunch shifts; monitor students while they are eating; and provide students with napkins, utensils, condiments, etc. If interested, please send an email to Heather Williams (HWilliams@fcps.edu).
Boosterthon Fun Run

Want to help but don't have much time? This would be a perfect opportunity for you! We are looking for members to help reach out to our local business community to help sponsor our upcoming Boosterthon Fun Run in June.
