World Read Aloud Day

An image of kindergartners during a read aloud in the library pit.

Some of our Clermont readers celebrated World Read Aloud Day in the library with Mrs. Cangro, our librarian. Ms. Shott’s second grade heard author Kate Albus read from her book “A Place to Hang the Moon” and Ms. Sarsour’s Kindergarten class heard author Melanie Ellsworth read from her book, “Clarinet and Trumpet.” Both classes had the opportunity to ask questions as well. Thank you to both authors for joining us virtually on World Read Aloud Day!

Sue Fliess Author Visit

An image of author Sue Fleiss posing in front of the ocean.

Local author Sue Fliess will visit Clermont Elementary on February 21! She'll talk about being an author, how to get story ideas, STEM, fractured fairytales, show us her new books and answer questions.

We're working with Scrawl Books to offer books for sale and signing for Sue's Author Visit. Please order books online by February 14th at www.scrawlbooks.com/sue-fliess

During check-out, in the Calculate Shipping Cost dropdown, choose our school. In the order comments, include your child's name, who Sue should sign the book(s) to, and the teacher's name. Sue will sign them and the school will distribute books to students when they come in. For every 20 books ordered, the school receives a "bonus book" for the library or classroom.
