1. From the Principal's Desk
Dear Members of the Chantilly HS Community:
As I finish my first few days as Interim Principal, I am reminded again of what a special community we have here in Chantilly. I am honored to be serving this great community again for a short time and I look forward to supporting Dr. Amy Goodloe as she transitions to our school. Please see the note below from Dr. Goodloe.
Have a great weekend.
Teresa Johnson
Dear Chantilly Community,
Thank you for the warm welcome to the Chantilly High School community. I am humbled and honored to have been named Principal of this great school and look forward to working with the Charger community beginning March 1.
As an FCPS graduate, community member, and educator for almost 27 years, my leadership skills and core values are closely aligned with the traditions of excellence, inclusion, and engagement that Chantilly has modeled since its opening fifty years ago. I am energized to continue to serve the students of the Chantilly pyramid, as I have for the past 17 years as the Principal of both Rocky Run Middle School and Oak Hill Elementary School. Chantilly High School is an exemplary school, full of opportunities that foster student growth in academics, industry, athletics, and leadership.
I bring a wealth of multi-level experience as an impactful, positive leader, known for fostering community, collaborating closely with all stakeholders, and maintaining positive, open communication.
Over the coming weeks and months, my priority will be to observe, listen, and connect with all members of the school community to learn about the great things that are happening and work together to elevate the voices, achievement, and overall wellness of the school. I look forward to collaborating with each of you to build connections and our collective capacity.
I look forward to working with Mrs.Teresa Johnson, Interim CHS Principal and former CHS Principal, as I transition to this new high school role.
I truly appreciate the opportunity to be a part of this outstanding school and to contribute to the team that leads Chantilly High School into the future.
Go Chargers!
Amy Goodloe

Congratulations Mr. Aaron Mynes who was recently recognized as an employee who shows that FCPS Cares.
My child's goal is to get into CHS Chamber Orchestra but was placed in Philharmonic after the incoming freshmen audition. He was discouraged with the placement and I shared with Mr. Mynes my concerns last summer. To my surprise, Mr. Mynes reached out (with my permission) to my child explaining the reasons. He was able to calm him down and as a result of that extra effort, my child was motivated to devote more practice. Recently, he shared with us that Mr. Mynes's class has been so enjoyable especially when he shared his life experience with his students. My child plans to take orchestra for the next 3 years and I'm glad he has a caring teacher whom he can look forward to every year. Thank you Mr. Mynes.
Congratulations Mr. JonPaul Sousa who was recently recognized as an employee who shows that FCPS Cares.
Early Spring of 2022, I emailed Mr. JonPaul, guessing he might be my rising 9th grader's counselor based on the last name, regarding the request for the 1st period of the school day to be free since my child will be taking online Chinese. Later in June, I received his response noting he will schedule my child to arrive late to school on B day. Since my child was still in middle school back then, my request may be too early, but Mr. JonPaul remembered and marked the email for follow-up. However, my indecisiveness led to switching back and forth between my child arriving late or leaving early after school. Again, Mr. JonPaul was very patient. When my child became officially a CHS student, I emailed him a few times and always received his response within a day. I am thankful for Mr. JonPaul for his kindness, patience, and professionalism. He has definitely made a lasting positive impact for this freshmen mom!
Thank you to our Chantilly community for donating to Food for Neighbors. This program was featured in the message last week, and over 40 new food donors participated since that time. Food for Neighbors is a local organization that collects food from our community via the Red Bag Program and donates directly to our local schools. The food is then distributed to our students every week through our food pantry.
4. Recent Student Successes
This is the next installment for the school year of what has become a weekly segment aimed at recognizing students for demonstrating recent improvement or achievement in academics, behavior or citizenship. At the end of each recognition, you will see the name of the nominating teacher or staff member. On a rotating basis, departments will nominate students. I meet with recognized students each week to congratulate them in person.
