ST Math Winter Puzzle Challenge

ST Math Winter Challenge Week 2

Dranesville ES students averaged 51 puzzles this week in the ST Math Challenge.

We are so proud of our mathematicians for completing an average of 51 ST Math puzzles during the second week of this challenge, especially during a three day week of school!

Thank you for your support as we work together to meet and exceed our weekly goal of averaging 50 puzzles or more, and for supporting your child as they progress in their personal ST Math journey.

These Community Forums  (link: https://www.fcps.edu/strategicplanning-communityforums) provide families, students, staff, and community members with an opportunity to participate in and influence the direction of FCPS’ new Strategic Plan. The goal is to have the final strategic plan by June 2023.

Learn more about our strategic planning process here.  If you can’t join the Dranesville Forum, please check out the schedule of Community Forums, including several virtual options, and register for one that is most convenient for you.

What Happens at a Strategic Planning Community Forum?

  • Community Forums will provide families, students, staff, and community members with an opportunity to review student achievement, access, and perception data and identify both strengths and challenges within the data.
  • Working in small groups, participants will use research-based goals as a framework to transition their observations into recommended goals for the strategic plan that are focused on our desired future state for students.
  • As a culminating activity, participants will identify the one guarantee they would like FCPS to make regarding our students’ education.
  • The data from the Community Forums will be synthesized and that information will be shared with the Core Planning Team to incorporate those recommendations into finalized strategic plan goals.

What Can I Do to Prepare?

It's not necessary to do anything in advance. We want you to bring your thoughts and experiences to the discussion. If you'd like to review in advance, the data reports shared at the Community Forums are available on the Strategic Planning website.

Volunteers Needed to Support Our Salad Bar Reopening

at Dranesville Elementary School

Salad Bar

Salad Bar Returns to Dranesville February 28th

Our school salad bar is reopening! Real Food for Kids and FCPS Food and Nutrition Services and we are in need of volunteers willing to dedicate time to help our school have a smooth reopening!

We are in need of two volunteers for our opening day: a station a volunteer at the front of the salad bar to help with trays and one at the back to help with salad dressing and directing students into the serving line. Please in sign up to help our opening day, February 28th.

Teaching and learning takes time. We would love volunteers to support students in accessing the salad bar during lunches throughout the first month of our salad bar reopening. Please email our Family Liaison, Jackson Moscoso to sign up to volunteer.

Thank you for your partnership in reopening our salad bar!

FCPS Cares

The FCPS CARES Program is an opportunity for parents, staff, and community members to recognize FCPS employees for going above and beyond to help others and show they care.
