Last evening, Director Kevin Lackie and our Innoation Choir performed a medley of songs at the start of the School Board Meeting. They did an outstanding job!

Outstanding Teacher Named

Cristina Procaccino, Latin teacher, has been named "Outstanding Teacher" not only at Edison High School, but also for the Edison Pyramid Schools (Twain MS and the six feeder elementary schools). Cristina is an FCPS graduate and is in her tenth year of teaching, and her third year at Edison. Her Latin students consistently wins state-wide competitions and her classes are at capacity. Congratulations!

Her name is now being forwarded to Region 3 for their consideration. The candidate who is chosen will then compete with all secondary school candidates for the Teacher of the Year.

Student Parking Update

We have reached capacity for student parking passed. We will review if we have a few more spaces on MondayOnly students who have purchased a parking pass may park at Edison in the student lot adjacent to the traffic light (left side). Students may not park in the middle lot where the trailers are located.

Effective Monday, January 30, 2023, cars will be ticketed and/or towed if no parking pass is visible.  All expenses associated with towing will be the responsibility of the student’s family.  If the car is ticketed, the fine is $25.00, and it becomes a student obligation that must be paid.

If you have questions, you may contact Mr. Tim Boyd, tboyd@fcps.edu or call the main office.

Return Schedule Change

As a reminder, Return period adjustments go into effect next week. Return period only applies to our 4th period (remediation block.) These adjustments allow for students and teachers to see each other with more frequency, builds n a FLEX time, and includes an Advisory return.  A video and calendar has been posted in Schoology.  Students are aware of the adjustments.

Strategic Planning Forums

Similar to a roadmap, a strategic plan clearly defines the best route for us to take in the years ahead to reach our goals. Our students are preparing for careers that don’t exist today. In order to keep pace with these needs, we need to rethink our plans for the future—and how we will best serve our students for this new era.

Visit our Strategic Planning webpage for more information on upcoming Community Forums and other opportunities to be involved in this exciting work. Please register here:  Strategic Forum Registration.

Dr. Reid will be hosing a community forum here at Edison HS on February 6 at 6:30 PM.

Virtual community conversations will be held on the following dates. To register for a virtual session, please click here: https://www.fcps.edu/strategicplanning-communityforums
