Mrs. Brown's 3rd Grade students flexed their Portrait of a Graduate Communicator and Collaborator skills as they learned about the pyramids!

Message from the Principal

Dear Cub Run Families,

It's hard to believe that we have reached the half-way point in the school year! Our staff and students have been working hard every day as learners and as a community to make school a fun and safe place to learn. Tomorrow and Friday, January 26th and 27th, are student holidays. On these two days, staff will be attending trainings and professional development, preparing progress reports, and planning for the 3rd quarter.

As you scroll through our News You Choose e-newsletter each Wednesday, you'll notice a change in formatting that we hope will streamline the information sent to you each week. The first section of our newsletter will include new updates and information. At the end of this section, you'll see this "ICYMI - In Case You Missed It" image:

ICYMI

The section that follows the image will always include information that has already been sent out, yet is still timely. As a parent myself, I know that it never feels like there is enough time to take in all of the information in my inbox, including updates from my children's school. I hope this will help. As always, I am open to your feedback!

Enjoy the long weekend with family, and we look forward to seeing our Cubbies back on Monday, January 30!

Warmly,

Natalie Lorenzi

Principal

Calendar Reminder: Quarter End

Does Your Child Refuse to Go to School?

Each year, nearly 5% of youth experience school refusal. This refers to a child refusing to go to school on a regular basis or remain in school throughout the day due to significant emotional distress. School refusal includes kindergarten students with relatively mild separation anxiety and more severe cases where a student misses weeks or months of school because of debilitating anxiety or depression. Read how to get your child back to school in the Healthy Minds Blog or learn more about attendance policies.
