Principal Message
Welcome Back Roadrunner families,
It was amazing to see our students return back to the building and return back to their routines. As we start the month this is a reminder that students in grades 3 - 6 will be taking the VGA this month. With the return back to school we would like to remind parents of the "Virginia Winter" your child will be experiencing over the next few months as we swing from the 60's (this week) to temperatures below freezing (predicted temperatures next week) proper clothing is necessary to ensure your child enjoys recess.
This month middle school Transition Information Meetings for 6th begins this month. Lorton Station 6th graders currently feed into three schools: Hayfield Secondary, Lake Braddock Secondary, and South County Middle. Parents/Guardians will be emailed information on which school their student will be attending by Tuesday January 10th. Mrs. Baier and Mrs. Muskett will be hosting 6th Grade Transition ~ Principal Coffee and Conversation meetings (in English January 31st @11am) and (in Spanish February 2nd @11am ) in our Family Resource Center. More information will be sent out soon. If you have any questions about Middle School Transition, please email Mrs. Baier Lgbaier@fcps.edu.
Warmest regards
Dr. Legagneur, Ms. Berry, and Ms. Champion

Substance Abuse Conversations
 |
|
Monday January 30th, Hayfield Secondary will host an important conversation for parents around the dangers of drugs and alcohol but most importantly how to engage your children in this discussion. The night will consist of a Substance Abuse Prevention Specialist sharing information about drugs and how parents can support their children. School SROs/police detectives and Fairfax-Falls Church CSB managers will be present to present relevant information and to answer questions. For those who are unable to attend in-person, a virtual option is scheduled through the Parent Resource Center for 3/21/2023. |
FCPS CARES
The FCPS CARES Program is an opportunity for families, staff, and community members to recognize FCPS employees for going above and beyond to help others and show they care. We invite you to submit your story, so we can all acknowledge the good work of FCPS employees at Lorton Station. We love our staff members; let's tell them how we feel!
