January 2, 2023

Hello Justice HS Students, Families, and Community Members,

Let me begin by wishing you all a Happy New Year filled with many successes and continued progress. During winter break, I hope you had the chance to catch up with friends and family and enjoy some rest and relaxation. I certainly spent some time reflecting on 2022 and mentally prepare the work and opportunities that lie ahead in 2023.

As we approach the holiday honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s work and his legacy in a few weeks; I am reminded of one of my favorite quotes of his, “Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.”  One of the things I appreciate most about our Justice High School community is that we are not silent about the things that matter and together we continue to provide a high-quality service for our students.

At Justice, we place great value on seeing our students showing continued academic success, healthy social/emotional accomplishments, and overall progress as they move through their academic journey while here at Justice.  I am excited to begin our work for the second half of the school year to ensure that learning continues. As we ring in the new year, we will begin to use this time as an opportunity to regularly check in with students and families to ensure that our students are on-track as we close out the 2nd quarter and are prepared and ready for the second half of the year.

Justice High School continues to strive to become a school focused on educational equity and find unique and innovative ways to partner, support and create opportunities that make our campus a place where all students feel safe, enjoy learning, develop strong relationships, and continue to grow each day socially, emotionally, and academically.

Thank you for your continued support as we navigate through this world of education with a cheerful heart in unison! Read below for additional amazing opportunities and important news for students and parents. Please let me know if you have any questions.

JUSTICE HS PTSA NEWS

The Wolf Shack: School Store and Resource Pantry is opening! We are very excited to be able to establish this avenue to serve our school community. We plan to provide essential resources that students can easily collect, starting with food and toiletries and moving to clothing and academic, artistic, and athletic supplies. We will use the funds earned from the sale of the spirit-wear, snacks, and drinks to restock the pantry. The success of this endeavor is dependent upon the financial support and volunteerism of the students, staff, and community.

Please donate food, essentials, money, Amazon or Giant gift cards, and sign-up to volunteer. The "store-side" opened on November 16th; to continue being open regularly we will need additional and consistent volunteers. With your continued donations we can maintain needed provisions. THANK YOU!
