Attention Rising 7th Graders!!

Mark your calendars for the upcoming transition events for students attending Lake Braddock for the 2023-2024 school year: 

LBSS Curriculum Fair Site Available

Available Beginning Tuesday, January 3, 2023

This site is designed to be accessed by both parents and students. A parent presentation will cover the academic advising timeline, understanding course selections, tips for selecting and entering classes for your student, Lake Braddock schedules, routines and terms, Bruins Stay After Program and Lake Braddock counselor contact information.

Lake Braddock SS Curriculum Night

Thursday, January 5, 6:30-8:00 at Lake Braddock

This in-person event will allow families to visit Lake Braddock and speak with faculty members about course options. Bruin Ambassadors will be stationed throughout the building to guide visitors and also be available to offer building tours.

6th Grade Assembly

Friday, January 13 during the school day (Students Only)

A Lake Braddock Counselor will present our 6th graders with the information they will need to complete their course selections. This event will take place during the school day.  Course selection forms will go home with students on Friday, January 13 and will be due back to Mrs. Stottlemyer, School Counselor, on Friday, January 20.  Mrs. Stottlemyer will be visiting 6th grade classes after January 20 to assist students with registering for classes through their SIS accounts.


6th Grade Class T-Shirt Design Contest

6th Grade Class T-Shirt Contest

Submissions Due Friday, January 27, 2023

Kings Glen 6th grade students are welcome to submit designs for their class t-shirts. All entries must have student’s name and homeroom teacher’s name on the back. Please submit designs to Mrs. Fitzgerald by January 27th. (More Information)

COVID Diagnostic Testing in January

Mark your calendars! COVID diagnostic testing will be available for FCPS teachers, staff, and students at five locations across the county January 3-5, 2023 from 5 to 8 p.m. This testing is for those who are either experiencing COVID symptoms or have been exposed to someone diagnosed with COVID. Appointments are not required, but registration must be completed before testing. Visit the COVID Testing webpage for more information

Speaker Rachel Bailey Virtual Session

Thursday, January 12 at 7 PM

Speaker Rachel Bailey returns on Thursday, January 12th at 7PM for a virtual session on tips for handling screen time with more peace.  We will also hold a quick PTA meeting before the presentation to discuss plans for the extra funds raised during our highly successful Booster.
