News and Notes

Winter Break
FCPS Winter Break is from December 19 - January 2. WSES will resume classes on Tuesday, January 3.

Virtual Principal Chat: Tuesday, January 10th
Topic: Digital Learning & Well-being
Dr. Sheers and Mr. Koontz (School-based Technology Specialist) will be discussing the opportunities (and pitfalls) digital devices can provide in supporting your child’s learning, both at school and at home. We will also discuss the digital citizenship curriculum your students will be taught at school and share additional resources you can use at home to help you raise healthy kids in an increasingly digital world. Please RSVP to James Koontz to receive the zoom link to the meeting.

The “Sickness Season” is in full swing.
The Health Department tracks student absences to detect potential outbreaks of flu, Covid, stomach bugs, etc. It would be extremely helpful to include details about your child's sickness such as (fever, headache, sore throat, etc.) as well as keeping your child home if they have any of the above symptoms. Thank you for your continuous support, and for your endless effort to keep everyone safe during this season.
