Hello Scottie Families!

Thank you to all who contributed to our December Days of Cheer and Wants and Needs drive!  We have such a supportive community and we appreciate our Scottie families!  As a reminder, our Wants and Needs drive continues through December 12.  See below for more information.

Next week we look forward to many exciting events, including our band and chorus winter concert, a 6th grade AAP parent information session, and our December PTO meeting.  Finally, we can't wait for our December SCA school spirit day on Friday; Pajama Day!  As with all spirit days, we encourage everyone to participate (parents, too!), either by dressing in pajamas, or wearing Bonnie Brae spirit wear colors of blue and white.

One more week until Winter Break!  We hope you all enjoy this weekend, and we will see our Scotties on Monday!

Bonnie Brae ES "Wants and Needs" Drive

Let’s come together as a school community to assist in making sure that every child is getting something that they want AND need this holiday season. ECHO directly helps local families in need with obtaining items related to basic needs, as well as, holiday gifts and meals. Bonnie Brae will be hosting a donation drive from November 28 until December 12 where families may donate items to the boxes outside of the Main Office to help families in need.

Inclement Weather Guidance

Winter weather will be here before you know it! Watch this video to see how weather-related closing decisions are made.

FCPS’ inclement weather procedures will remain the same as last year. The first five inclement weather days will be traditional “snow days” with no school activities. After those five days, we will use the flexibility provided by the Virginia General Assembly to have unscheduled virtual learning days, whenever possible, to maintain the continuity of learning. Virtual learning on these days will be synchronous/live instruction, following the inclement weather virtual learning day schedule (includes a two-hour delay).

FCPS’ website is generally the first mode of communication during emergency weather closings. Other communication channels will be used as quickly as possible including email, text, social media, and news stations. Learn more about how schedule changes are communicated

Be sure to plan ahead for the winter season. Make sure your contact information is up-to-date in weCare@school, bookmark the FCPS website, plan for childcare, if appropriate, and know what items your child may need to take home before a weather event.
