Fairhill Forum December 6, 2022
Dear Fairhill Families,
December has truly arrived! Wow - the weather is shifting towards winter. Tomorrow, Wednesday December 7, is a busy evening at Fairhill. Beginning at 5:00 we will open our Book Fair to families (ending at 7:00 P.M.) just prior to our December PTA meeting that will begin at 7 P.M. in the Cafeteria.
Speaking of the weather changing, you might be missing a hat, jacket, or scarf at home. While you are here on Wednesday, we recommend that you come check out the Lost and Found that has an abundance of student clothing. During winter break, we will bag up all of the clothing left and it will be donated. Come check it out tomorrow to make sure your lost items are not donated!
Stay well and warm!
Ted & Courtney

Book Fair
Book Fair is officially underway! Students previewed the fair and made wish lists with their classes on Friday, Monday, and today. Hopefully, those made it home so you can help your student decide on his/her purchases. On Wednesday, we open for business! Students may shop Wed.-Fri. during their class’s official day/time. If you would like to set-up a cashless way for your student to shop, you can create an eWallet for them at our website listed below. We’d also love to welcome all of you to our Family Night! We’ll be open from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, 12/7. Come shop, and then stay for the PTA meeting beginning at 7 p.m. You can also shop online at our website: https://bookfairs.scholastic.com/bf/fairhillelementaryschool1

ESSER III Community Conversation on December 13
Thanks to everyone who provided input in October on ESSER III funding–federal funding which was allocated to FCPS to address the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on students and student learning. Community feedback indicated that there is a general unawareness of the impact of ESSER funding and a perceived lack of communication around how the funds are being used.
To help address this, Superintendent Reid and Sloan Presidio, chief academic officer, will host a Community Conversation on ESSER on Tuesday, December 13, at 6:30 p.m., at the Gatehouse Administration Building in the Café. Please stay tuned for more details. Visit BoardDocs for a detailed update on ESSER.
