Dear Marshall Road Families,

We hope you had a wonderful holiday weekend with family and friends. 

Thank you for supporting Marshall Road through your donations to the Runathon!  Your generosity makes such a difference in the lives of our students and teachers!

The Madison Pyramid & One Kind Act Vienna's Annual Can Food Drive continues through next Friday, December 9.  Donations can be dropped off in the school lobby.  Please consider spreading kindness by donating to those in our community who are in need.

The next few weeks will be filled with much learning and many enjoyable activities as we come to the end of 2022.  Please mark your calendar for our Winter Concert which is taking place on Wednesday, December 13 at 6:30 pm.

School Events & Information

FLE Opt Outs 

In the fall, families were informed of Family Life Education (FLE) and given the opportunity to opt their student out if desired.  Students in grades 4–6 only will receive instruction from the Human Growth and Development portion of FLE during the week of December 12.  Information on both the FLE program and opt outs are provided in the letters linked below  Paper opt out forms will also be provided in next week’s Tuesday folder for students in grades 4-6.  Please let us know by Friday,  December 9, if you would like to opt your child out of FLE.  If you wish to opt your 4-6 grade student from these lessons, please complete and return the opt out form linked on this website and provided via Tuesday folder or email Assistant Principal Sue Kirby at stkirby@fcps.edu on or before Friday, December 9.

PTA Update

We raised over $43,000 for Marshall Road! 

Thank you, Marshall Road community!  Our 12th Annual Runathon raised over $43,000!  Your generosity will help our students, teachers, and staff throughout the year!  Every dollar will help enrich our school! 

Thank you to all our volunteers who helped make the Runathon a success.  Thanks again to all our wonderful sponsors.  Finally, congratulations to all our raffle and prize winners!!  You can view all winners on our Runathon website here.  As an extra reward, the PTA will be providing a popcorn party for the whole school on Friday, December 16! 

Winter Coat Drive 

The MRES community will be collecting new or excellent used/ready-to-wear condition winter coats, hats, gloves, and scarves for children, teens, and women from November 28 - December 9.  A drop-off box is located in the MRES lobby.  Contributions will be donated to Women Giving Back (https://womengivingback.org/). Sponsored by the MRES PTA.

Save the Date: Dining for Dollars at Vienna Inn 

Support Marshall Road while cheering on your favorite World Cup Team!!!  Dine at Vienna Inn on Monday, December 5 or Tuesday, December 6, 8:00 am- 10:30 pm. Come catch one of the FIFA World Cup games while you enjoy breakfast, lunch, or dinner! 

Remember to put your receipt in the bucket at the register and a portion of all sales will be donated to Marshall Road.  The Roadrunner will stop by both evenings to grab a chili dog and mingle with Marshall Road families
