News and Announcements November 22nd Edition

Majors achieve and thrive together with purpose and pride!

Food Drive

We are proud to support our community by providing those in need with food for the holidays!

Dear Major Families,

As the holidays approach, I am reflecting on how thankful I am for the simple things in life that matter most. I am forever grateful for the opportunity to work alongside such a caring community and am encouraged by the generosity of our students, staff and families every day.   Over the break, I encourage you to create special memories with your family, as time is precious and memories last a lifetime.

On December 8, 2022 at 6:00 pm, I will hold a Principal Chat with multiple stakeholders to discuss safety and communication at MVHS.  I encourage you to add  questions and/or recommendations you’d like to discuss at this meeting in the form linked here.

Take good care and enjoy your time with family and friends.

Sincerely,

Principal Rogers

Parent Student Advocacy Handbook

The Minority Student Achievement Oversight Committee (MSAOC) has created a Parent Advocacy Handbook to provide information and support to families as they navigate the FCPS system for their children. It is designed to be particularly useful for families who may be less familiar with such a large school division and/or with schooling in the U.S.  Hard copies will be available at the school in the coming weeks, but an electronic version can be found here  Parent Advocacy Handbook | Fairfax County Public Schools
