Student Voice: Bodhi Day for the News Show

Clermont students have a strong voice! We would love to hear more about the various holidays our students celebrate from our Eagles. Does your family celebrate Bodhi Day? If your child is interested in recording a segment for our news show, we would love to hear their thoughts! Please contact Mrs. Cangro at kncangro@fcps.edu by December 5 for more information.

Clermont Kindergartners line up alongside a fire truck.

Kindergartners learned all about fire safety this week, and even got to check out a real fire truck!

Fall Picture Retakes

Fall picture retakes will be held on November 29. If you would like your child to have their photo retaken, please notify their teacher. Additionally, all students who were absent on picture day will have their photo taken.

Book Fair Parent Volunteers Wanted!

Pink Book Fair Save the Date image

Get ready! The Scholastic Book Fair is coming our way (YAY!). Choosing their own books empowers kids and inspires them to become Bolder, Prouder, and Stronger Readers. AND - as always - every book they buy earns rewards for our school library.

Here’s what you need to know about the Fair, which will take place in our Clermont library:

Book Fair dates: Monday, November 28 - Friday, December 2

Shopping hours for families: Tuesday, November 29 from 4:00 - 7:30 pm

Students shop with their class - your child’s teacher will let you know their buying day: Wednesday, November 30 - Friday, December 2.

Please note: we are required to charge sales tax this year on all purchases from our book fair.

This year, say goodbye to cash and hello to eWallet - your child’s digital payment account. Before the Fair, set up eWallet for worry-free, cash-free purchases. Anyone can contribute! Share each child’s eWallet so friends and family can add funds and give your kids more books to enjoy.

If you can’t make it to the Fair, then shop at our school’s Online Book Fair. All orders ship directly to your home, and shipping is free for book orders over $25. Your online orders will also benefit our school. Our Online Fair is available from November 22 to December 2.

Visit our Book Fair homepage to learn more and get started with eWallet and online shopping:

Opportunities to Participate in the Strategic Planning Process

FCPS is offering a number of opportunities for parents/caregivers to be involved in the Strategic Planning process! Check out two immediate options below:

Nominate Yourself or Someone Else for the Family Team

We are currently seeking nominations for parents/caregivers who are interested in contributing to Strategic Plan development as part of the Family Team. This team will represent the rich diversity of families that make up FCPS’ community, and will focus on identifying engagement and outreach practices that will improve our partnerships with families.

If you are interested in being part of the Family Team or would like to nominate someone else, please fill out this form by Tuesday, November 22.

Be a Key Communicator!

If you are a member of a community organization or group, consider signing up to be a key communicator during the strategic planning process. FCPS key communicators are active members of the community who people turn to for information, and have an interest in sharing information about the school division and encouraging involvement. If this describes you or someone you know, please get the details and complete this form

Staying Healthy this Cold/Flu Season

Although the community level of COVID-19 in Fairfax County is currently low, cases of RSV, the flu, and other viruses are on the rise. It continues to be important to wash your hands regularly, cover coughs and sneezes, monitor your health daily, and stay home if you are sick. For more tips, visit our Return to School website.
