Lemon Road Community News 11.13.22

Message from Mrs. Castillo

Kindergarten

We had an awesome week at Lemon Road!  Our Kindergarteners and families enjoyed their annual Squirrel Walk where classes hiked through the trails looking for squirrels, dreys, and basic needs of squirrels.  Thursday was exciting as we celebrated our community Veterans and active members of the military.  Finally, students in each class were selected to spend time with our Therapy Dogs in the courtyard.

Thank you families who enjoyed dinner from Basic Burger last Thursday evening - small acts of support like that allow our PTA to help our school in so many ways!

This week will be busy day and night with the Scholastic Book Fair, sixth grade field trip, PTA meeting, FLE Parent Preview Night, Family Night, and Principal lunch bunches with our SCA Officers and Representatives.  Have a great rest of your Sunday!

Parent Reminders:

- If your child is interested in participating in the LRES Annual Variety Show on December 16, complete the permission slip and have your child begin practicing their act.  Performers in grades 4 - 6 may access the upper grade Flip audition here.

- Thank you to all our parents who have donated snacks & drinks.  If you haven’t yet, consider making a donation to stock the staff lounge.  Use this sign up genius or purchase any favorite family snack.

Positivity Project: Gratitude

Gratitude

This week our school community will be focusing on the character strength of Gratitude. Gratitude means you are aware of and thankful for good things that happen.  Gratitude is the quality of feelings and expressing thankfulness and appreciation. It is an affirmation that there is goodness in other people and the world and that we have received that goodness. People with the strength of gratitude have a readiness to show appreciation for kindness and also to return kindness.
