Principal's Message

Hello Shrevewood Families,

Thank you to our veteran and active service family members who came in to read to our students in their classrooms yesterday. We are grateful and honored to recognize these individuals and thank them for their service as we reflect on the importance of Veterans Day.

This week is National School Psychologists Week. Thank you to our amazing school psychologist, Sarah D'Elia, for all she does to support our students and families.

We are looking forward to a full week of school with our students next week! We hope you have a wonderful weekend!

FCPS has developed a bonus program for substitutes who accept more than the 10 required jobs.  For each millstone you will earn a bonus.  If you meet all 3 milestones, your total bonus will be $900.00.  Bonuses will be paid quarterly.

If you work 50 substitute jobs within a school year, you will earn a $200.00 bonus.

If you work 100 substitute jobs within a school year, you will earn a $300.00 bonus.

If you work 150 substitute jobs within a school year, you will earn a $400.00 bonus.

Work on a High-Volume Day and You will receive Premium Pay!!

FCPS has identified high-volume days.  When you work on a high-volume day, your hourly pay will increase to 1.5 times your regular hourly pay.  All you need to do is accept a job in SmartFind Express and your pay rate will be adjusted for that day.

Opportunity for Students to Help Inform FCPS’ Future

You may have heard FCPS is developing a Strategic Plan that will serve as the school division’s roadmap for the future. We encourage every parent/caregiver, student, employee, and community member to participate in this important work.

The first engagement opportunity will be an optional survey, which will be open to students in grades 3-12. Knowing what is important to students will be very helpful to Dr. Reid, as she leads the planning of FCPS’ future. All schools, including ours, will schedule a date and time during the school day to administer the survey next week. If you would prefer that your child not participate, you may opt your child out of taking the survey. Please visit FCPS’ website for more information. (Note that this opt out is different from the Focus Group information that families of students in grades 3-6 received yesterday).

Shrevewood Online Directory

Membership Toolkit (formerly AtoZ connect)

The Shrevewood PTA is happy to offer an online directory to families so we can all connect! It's time to verify your family's listing in Shrevewood's online directory!

If you have used this tool in the past, go to, log-in, and update your information!

If you are new to this tool, please go to the website above and CREATE an account. If the email you use matches the one in the directory, you will be linked to our directory. If they don't’ match, you will need to email from the email address you used to create an account and our Directory Chair will grant access.

After verifying your information, you can access the directory by visiting the website (listed above) or downloading the Membership Toolkit app to your Apple or Android devices.

The directory is password-protected and limited to Shrevewood families and staff. At any time you may hide part or all of your contact information from the directory and you control what emails you receive from the PTA.

Positivity Project

Next week in our Positivity Project lessons in Morning Meeting, we are focusing on Gratitude. Individuals with this strength are aware of and thankful for good things that happen.

Questions that you can discuss with your child about gratitude:

  • What are you grateful for?
  • How does it feel when someone shows gratitude towards you?
  • What is one way you showed gratitude to another person today?

“As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.” -John F. Kennedy
