Dear Fairhill Families,
WOW! How amazing was the Fall Festival?! The turn out was incredible and seeing so many of our families in one place warmed our hearts. To ALL the people who helped run such a successful event, THANK YOU.
Missed the Fall Festival? No problem! This weekend we have plenty of events to attend. It will begin with singing the National Anthem before the Falls Church HS Football game on Friday evening. See below for more information and to sign up. On Saturday we will have our Annual Pumpkin Pie Run at 9:00 AM right here at Fairhill! Please see below to sign up or to volunteer. We still need volunteers to assist with this event.
As we start the second quarter, we want to reiterate our support for your student and your family at Fairhill. One of the things that makes Fairhill such an amazing place is our supportive community and we don’t take that partnership for granted. We are always an email or phone call away if there is something we can do to make your Fairhill experience better.
All our best,
Ted & Courtney

Every October, our oldest Tigers promote on the school news the idea of philanthropy – sharing your time, talent, or treasure with others. Students are invited to share some of their treasure (leftover or extra Halloween candy) with Second Story (a refuge for homeless teens), the Children’s Hospital and military troops overseas (Operation Gratitude). Last year, Fairhill students collected over 500 pounds of candy to share! We hope to do the same this year, so please encourage your Tigers to send in any candy they would like to share November 1st – 4th. Thank you for helping us show that #OtherPeopleMatter! |
National Anthem at Falls Church HS
The students of Fairhill have been invited along with all the other elementary schools in our pyramid to sing the National Anthem before a Falls Church HS Football Game! The students have been working very hard to learn and sing the National Anthem over the past few weeks and this is a wonderful opportunity for our students in grades K-6 to perform for an audience. Each family will receive one ticket to the game for a parent or guardian. What you need to know:
Where: Falls Church High School - 7521 Jaguar Trail, Falls Church, VA 22042
When: Friday November 4th. Meet in FCHS auditorium for warm up at 6:00 PM
Transportation: Families will need to drop off at entrance 8. Pick up by parents next to the bleachers on the far side of the stadium (away from the entrance) or in the auditorium lobby (FCHS Door 8). Students will not be released to parents waiting in vehicles in the parking lot for their safety. Students should be picked up no later than 7:05 p.m.

Federal Impact Aid Survey
Please check your students' Tuesday folder today. Each eligible student at Fairhill received a Student-Parent Survey for Federal Impact Aid.
Returning this form is important, because information from this survey results in an additional $3 million in grants each year from the U.S. Department of Education. These funds are used to support all Fairfax County public schools and centers.
For each school-aged child in your household, please complete, sign, date, and return the survey to your child's teacher. If Sections 1 and 2 of the survey do not apply to you, just check the box in Section 3. All forms must be signed, dated, and returned by November 4. All responses are confidential.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Anne Kane ackane@fcps.edu.
Watch the video to learn more about this process.
Picture Retake Day is November 9th
If you have received your student's picture but want a retake, you will need to send the old one in with your student to the retake.
