SCA Spirit Day – Costume Day!

We are excited that our SCA Leadership Team will be collaborating with our SCA sponsors on monthly Bonnie Brae spirit days this year!  Following tradition, Bonnie Brae will be holding our annual storybook character/costume day on October 28, 2022. Students are encouraged to dress up in their favorite storybook character or costume of their choice. We want all of our Scotties to be able to participate in spirit days, and we encourage all students, staff, and parents to take part on October 28 by either dressing in a costume, or by wearing Bonnie Brae colors of blue and white!

For students wearing a costume on October 28, below are some important points to consider.

Clothing or costumes must:

  • Be respectful of all cultures, races, ethnic and religious groups, and those with a disability
  • Be appropriate and follow dress guidelines shared in Student Rights and Responsibilities
  • Contain no blood, gore, or signs and themes of violence
  • Not include play guns, swords, knives or weapons of any type
  • Allow full participation in the day and students to be seated at their desk
  • Not be bulky to the point that it interferes or impedes with other students or classroom activities
  • Ensure that the face is visible (with optional protective COVID-19 face mask)

Veterans Day Breakfast & Classroom Visits

Bonnie Brae is so excited to be able to host the Veteran's Day Breakfast and Read Aloud event on November 10th beginning at 8:30 am in the Cafeteria for Bonnie Brae families and staff who currently serve or have served in the armed forces.  Following, throughout the day, we encourage any service member able to visit one or more classrooms to either read a book or share about their experience. If you can submit a photo, join us for breakfast, or visit a classroom, please complete this google form. We will use photos submitted from the community to create a slideshow both for the event and for our Bonnie Brae Bark News Show to share with students.

To all Veterans, thank you for your service.
