Friday, Oct. 28, is the last day of the first quarter, and a two-hour early release for students at 2:05 p.m.
Monday, Oct. 31, schools are closed for students for a teacher workday.
Tuesday, Nov. 8, the day will be observed as a holiday for students and teachers... Get out and Vote!
Friday, Nov. 11, is a student holiday/school planning day for the Veterans Day holiday. Veterans Day provides a great reason to pause, reflect, and recognize the extraordinary sacrifices our Veterans and their families have made on our behalf, and we thank them for their service.

To submit a nomination for a Sunrise Valley Outstanding employee in one of the categories below, please click on the appropriate nomination link. You may nominate more than one employee, or employees, across multiple categories. All that is required for a preliminary nomination is a brief statement. Additional information regarding each of these awards, as well as the criteria and considerations, are included within each link.
Outstanding Teacher – a teacher or librarian with 3 or more years of experience
Outstanding New Teacher - a teacher or librarian with less than 3 years of experience
Outstanding Leader – an Assistant principal
Outstanding Professional Employee- these positions could include School-Based Technology Specialists, Technology Support Specialist, Instructional Coach, Psychologist, Social Worker, School Counselor
Outstanding Operational Employee – these positions could include administrative and office assistants, custodial staff, food service staff, Instructional Assistants, Public Health Assistants, Public Health Training Assistants

The PTA is pleased to bring you the annual Sunrise Valley Fall Festival this Friday, October 28th.
Meet up on the school playground at 5pm for food, candy, games, and music DJed by SVES teacher Mr. Platts, followed by a showing of The Addams Family 2 movie on the big screen at 6:45pm.
Tickets available online or at the gate ($8/student).
Donate your gently used outgrown SVES spirit wear at the event for redistribution to other Sunrise Valley families.

On Thursday, November 10, our students will be participating in a Veterans Day Assembly.
Kindergarten and first grade will take place at 9:45 and second - fourth grade will take place at 10:30. Fifth and sixth grade will be participating in both assemblies.
We are honoring Veterans in our SVES community during these assemblies and invite them to attend. Please RSVP to Adrienne Burton.
The assemblies will be livestreamed and recorded to be shared with all families.
The South Lakes High School Dance Team is excited to be hosting our first annual Winter Market this year!
The Winter Market will be held at South Lakes High School on December 11th from 11:00-3:00pm.
This will be a craft fair/farmer’s market style event with many local vendors and will be a great time for people to do their holiday shopping. There will be door prizes, a photo opportunity with our school mascot, a hot chocolate bar, and a kid’s craft area!
If you are interested, booth registration is $80 (this price will increase to $100 after November 27th). Upon registering, you will receive an email with an information form to fill out as well as further details about this event.
