GBE Fall Block Party
Huge thanks to all who have signed up thus far. We have 132 members now and need 48 more to reach 180 before October 22. If the school reaches 180 new members before the GBE Fall Block Party, Mr. Pietzman and Roadie will put on a dance for us. You can sign up here, on the PTA website.
Join us Tomorrow - Fall Block Party on
Saturday, October 22 from 12-2PM
Activities/attractions include:
- Balloon animals by Focus Family Martial Arts Academy;
- Cake Walk with donations from Nothing Bundt Cakes, Wegmans, & GBE community;
- Cotton Candy by Dynamic Kicks Martial Arts;
- Photo booth for selfies and group shots by Gotta Go with Joe;
- Jump ropes by Burn Boot Camp;
- STEM table by Stemtree;
- Toothbrushes & oral hygiene table by Pumpkin Pediatric Dentistry;
- Appetizers by Silver Diner;
- Woodsy the Owl from the National Park Service;
- Music by DJ Baard;
- STEAM table by GBE Staff;
- Bubbles,
- chalk/coloring; and
- hula hoops;
Confirmed Food Trucks include:
- Kona Ice (shaved ice; the PTA will get 20% kickback from sales);
- Falafel (halal gyros, falafel, shawarmas, BBQ, cheesesteaks & more);
- Killer Tomato Pizza;
- Empanadas de Mendoza; and
- Pa' Tacos El Papi (authentic Mexican tacos).
Call for Toiletry Donations by GBE Student Council Association (SCA)
The SCA will be collecting full sized toiletries next to the PTA table at the Fall Block Party. Needed items include: toothpaste, soap, conditioner and shampoo.
New After School Program -
Zumba Kids to Start in November

Zumba Kids is a biweekly, after school program starting on November 4th and ending on December 16th. Registered students will meet in GBE's music room from 4:10PM-5:10PM. Cost to register is $71. Spots are limited. Register here! |
Wanted - Lego Robotics and
Chess Club Coaches
We still don't have enough volunteer coaches to meet the demand. Help us make this a reality for the kids! If interested in coaching for Chess Club, please email Patrick Foster, VP of Programming, at programs@gbepta.org. If interested in coaching for Lego Robotics, please email Dulce Ayoubi-Acosta, VP of Communications, at communications@gbepta.org.

Save the Date - Penny Wars Starts Nov 1
1-2-3-4 We declare a Penny War! Start gathering your spare change for the first 2 weeks in November as the grades compete against each other for extra recess time. Add pennies and bills to your grade's jar to earn points, and use silver coins (nickels, dimes, & quarters) to take away points from the other grades. Funds raised will be used to support PTA activities/events such as block parties, teacher appreciation week, school improvements, and other programing. More details to come!
