We had a variety of counseling lessons this month at BMP. We focused on reminding our students our school expectations. We talked about habits and interest, leadership and celebrate our Hispanic Heritage Month. We use the example of important Hispanic people to talk about leadership and diversity.
It is very important to talk to your child about diversity and inclusion. Talking to your child positively about inclusion can help them better understand themselves and those around them, it can also increase their confidence and kindness. Diversity and inclusion help children learn to empathize with people who are different from them, it can make all kids better learners, allowing them to understand various subjects from multiple points of view. It can be fun to explore different cultures and learn more about them. Read books that talk about diversity or books that show different cultures.
