Dear Stenwood Families,
In the last week, we have had so many opportunities to see our families and it has been so great to see so many of you! Thanks to our amazing PTA for the Ice Cream Social! So many families joined us for lots of dancing, hula hooping, and of course ice cream! Amazing events like those are funded by our PTA and their primary fundraiser is Help the Hive. If you have not had an opportunity to donate and have the means to do so, please get your donations in by the end of next week.
Believe it or not, we are halfway through the 1st Quarter! In the next few weeks, teachers will be sending out conference sign ups. This is a great way to connect with your child’s teacher and hear about their progress, make sure to look for it and sign up.
As a reminder, Monday is a student holiday for the observation of Yom Kippur.

Supporting Your Child in a Digital World
Setting Media & Device Boundaries with Your Child
Week 3: Establish Expectations At Home
|
|
It’s recommended to establish expectations at home. Establishing expectations can begin as a family conversation about device and media use. Conversations can cover technology consequences (good & bad), what is age appropriate, how parental controls will be used and why, what will happen if rules are broken. etc. |
It is recommended to be transparent, consistent and predictable. Families can visit the FCPS Digital Citizenship: Establishing Expectation at Home webpage and the Family Engagement Toolkit from Common Sense Media for additional resources.

Positivity Project: Perspective
|
|
This week, we are focusing on Perspective. You appreciate that people see things in different ways. You have the ability to understand the world from multiple points of view. |
