Hello Scottie Families!
What a beautiful day today to end a beautiful week here at Bonnie Brae! A reminder that Monday, September 26, is a student holiday and there is no school. We look forward to seeing our students next week on Tuesday.
Next Friday, September 30, is another Bonnie Brae spirit day, and we ask that those who are able wear their Bonnie Brae spirit wear or blue and white!
We hope you are able to enjoy crisp, cool temperatures that will be around this weekend. Get outside, be active, and have some fun as a family!

Attendance Matters!
Regular attendance is important not only for academic growth, but also for physical wellbeing and social-emotional health. Habits and routines established at home go a long way toward keeping kids on track and successful in coming to school regularly and on time.
What you can do:
- Set a regular bedtime and morning routine. Lay out clothes and pack backpacks the night before
- Talk with your child about what they are looking forward to for the following day at school. Even identifying small positives can make a big difference in motivation
- Attend school-sponsored events whenever possible. Being actively involved in the school community increases student sense of belonging and makes coming to school more enjoyable.
- Avoid medical appointments and extended trips when school is in session.

SCA Leadership Team
The SCA sponsors are excited to announce elections for the 2022-23 school year! SCA will be organized a little differently this year, as we align ourselves with the other elementary schools in the Robinson pyramid. Our SCA will become the Bonnie Brae Leadership Team, and this team will support our school through spirit days and helping our community through kindness and other activities. For 6th Grade, there will be six Cabinet Members, and for each of 4th and 5th grade, there will be five members on the Leadership Team.
Important Dates:
- September 23—SCA Leadership Team information broadcast to students on the Bonnie Brae News Show
- September 27—Optional SCA Q & A Interest Meeting with our SCA Sponsors (for those with questions)
- September 29 - Interest form due date
- September 30—Sponsors will go over next steps for candidates running
- October 11—Grades 4, 5, & 6 vote for candidates within their grade level
The first SCA Leadership Team meeting will take place on Monday, October 17.
Please direct any questions to our SCA sponsors, Rochelle Oedemann or Lynda Falkenstein.
Join the PTO and BBES Community for an outdoor movie night on the back playground Friday September 30th! Bring blankets to sit on and get there early to get your spot and grab some concessions. The PTO will be selling pizza, hot dogs, popcorn, candy, and drinks. We can't wait to see everyone there!
We need volunteers to make this event a success. Please let us know if you can help with set-up, concessions, or clean-up. Please reach out to president@bonniebraepto.org.
Movie Time: 7:00pm
Please note that since this event is after school hours, all children will need to be accompanied by an adult.
After School Activities
The PTO is seeking a volunteer to serve as the After School Programs Coordinator to organize some after school programs for Bonnie Brae.
If you are interested, please reach out to president@bonniebraepto.org to learn more.
