Dear Marshall Road Families,

It was wonderful to see so many of you at Back to School Night.  Our teachers were excited to meet you and share a glimpse of your child’s school day with you.  For those of you who were unable to attend, grade level presentations can be found here.

Thank you for donating to the food drive last week.  Your support will assist many in our community.  We are glad that our students are learning how kindness can be shared with people they may never meet.  What a great example of our #ONEkindactVienna Campaign.  We hope you will join us throughout the school year and beyond to celebrate kindness at school, at home and in the community.  Follow us on twitter @MarshallRoadES to see many kind acts highlighted throughout the school year.

Parent Digital Resources Consent Form 

Every student must have parental consent BEFORE they can use certain digital resources.  To provide your parental consent for each student in your family, please use this link and follow the provided directions.  This can also be done from your ParentVue account when you log in.  Click here for more information, including the list of digital resources used at Marshall Road.

 

Fall Picture Day 

Student photos will be taken on Thursday, October 13.  Pictures may be ordered online and will be available approximately two weeks following picture day.  Save time and pre-order online here.  More details will be coming soon.

PTA Update

Register Now for Fall Enrichment Classes  

This is the last week to register for enrichment classes!  The MRES PTA has put together a full lineup of before-school classes including some favorites (Fitness Warriors!) as well as lots of new options.  You can view class descriptions on our enrichment website.  Registration will close tomorrow, September 13 at 9:00 pm.  Classes will start the week of September 19.  Financial aid scholarships are available when you register.  Email Cheryl (enrichment@marshallroadpta.org) with questions.  

 

Room Parents Needed  

We are hoping to find a room parent for every home room teacher!  We currently still need room parents for the following classrooms: Nusser, Rocha, Kane, Wood, Mai, Ganezer, Wilkins, Monner, Guertin, Rajesh, McPherson, Ramos, Jutcovich, and Nicolas.  See our Room Parent at a Glance info sheet here and use the Google form to let us know if you're available to be a room parent for your student's class.

Save the Date for Marshall Road’s Fall Family Picnic 

Join us on Friday, September 23, 5:30-7:30 pm for our Fall Family Picnic!  This is a chance to enjoy time together with the Marshall Road community.  We will have music by School of Rock, food for sale from the Roaming Coyote, 7 Starr Wings, and Ben & Jerry’s, and activities for the students.  This event will be held outdoors on the fields behind the school.  All are welcome.

Runathon Sponsorships and Volunteers – Help Support our Biggest Fundraiser!  

Do you have a business?  Are you looking for a fantastic, local advertising opportunity?  Sponsor the Marshall Road Elementary Runathon and have YOUR logo on 1,000 shirts! Your business’ support through a tax-deductible donation will assist us in purchasing a t-shirt for every student, faculty member, and volunteer for this event!  T-shirt space is available with two levels of sponsorship.  Email Renee at runathon@marshallroadpta.org to learn more and secure your spot on this year's t-shirt.  The deadline for sponsorships in September 30th.    

We also need volunteers to help make this event a success.  The Runathon will be held November 10th, so planning is already underway.  We need your help obtaining sponsors, prizes, and more.  Fill out this Google form to let us know how you might be interested in getting involved.

 

Dining 4 Dollars Returns on Wednesday, September 28 at The Sandwich Shop!     

Fantastic sandwiches, salads, grilled cheese, pasta, chicken nuggets and more for the kids.  Check out the offerings or order here from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm.  Mention Marshall Road at the register or include Marshall Road in the notes on the checkout page if ordering online.  20% will be donated to MRES!  Details can be found here.
