Message from the Principal

Greetings Saxons,

This first week of school has flown by in a whirlwind of finding new classes, meeting new teachers and friends and reconnecting with classmates. Smiles have been bright and the positive energy palpable within the building. The 2022-23 school year has gotten off to a fabulous start!

Our year started off with a bang by being featured on Channel 7 news on Monday morning. A huge shout out to the band, cheer, dance, leadership students, and staff who showed up for festivities. Also, a huge thank you to Otto, our school mascot, for making an appearance on what was one of the muggiest mornings of the year.

The broadcast was a phenomenal way to kick off the first day of school, although the 6 a.m. start made for a very long day for students and teachers.

As we look forward to a wonderful second week of school, I ask for your help with the following:

  • Please help your student adhere to the 7:40 a.m. opening of the building. To ensure student safety, students arriving before this time will not be allowed to enter the building
  • Please remind your student that cell phone use is not allowed in restrooms or locker rooms except for emergencies

I hope everyone will be able to make it to our varsity football team’s home opener this evening. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. If your student is planning to attend, please remind them that neither backpacks/bags nor outside food and drinks are allowed. Also, if your student is attending, thank you for making sure their transportation is onsite by 9 p.m. for pick-up. This will ensure a timely departure for staff working the game.

Have a fabulous weekend,
