Mustang Memo 8.26.22

MM

All students at West Springfield begin their day in a Morning Meeting.

Note from Dr. Sheers

As we begin our school year together at WSES in the midst of a serious nation-wide teacher shortage, we have a unique opportunity to be grateful for our West Springfield staff.

Fortunately, we are fully staffed with dedicated professionals, committed to your students and their success. I hope you all share my sense of pride in this incredible staff. Your child is our number one priority. Our constant goal is continuous improvements in our ability to support them and their success, both academically and socially-emotionally.

That goal demands immense work and responsibilities of our staff. The past two and a half years introduced new dynamics in how we support students as well as increasing demands on educators due to the changing façade of education. As we enter a new school year, we return with a renewed spirit and an opportunity to re-engage; returning to what we do best at West Springfield by building a sense of community, creating a caring culture, supporting each child’s individual growth, and creating 21st Century learners.

The joy at West Springfield among staff and students is palpable. We are excited to have an opportunity to rebuild our school together and focus on what we do best!

Please join me in supporting our staff and endorsing the healthy work-home balance I encourage them all to pursue. I have no doubt the students will come out on top when our community of professional educators feels as valued and supported by all.
