Open House is Coming!

Please join us for an in-person Open House to meet your new teacher on Thursday, August 18. We are looking forward to seeing all of our old friends and meeting our new ones! This event will be in-person with alphabetically staggered time slots based on last names.
This is a meet-and-greet opportunity and a chance to drop off school supplies. Classroom presentations will occur at our Back to School Night on September 8.
On August 18, please arrive at the times below based on your student's last name:

The first day of school is Monday, August 22. School hours are 8:55 AM - 3:40 PM for GR Preschool - GR 6.
Our front doors and Kiss & Ride doors open to students at 8:40 AM and students are expected to be in their classrooms and ready to begin at 8:55 AM.

Free and Reduced-Price Meals |
Free and Reduced-Price Meal Applications are now available on the FCPS website. Interested families are encouraged to submit the application as soon as possible. A new application must be submitted every school year. Paper copies of the application are also available in the main office.
As of July 1, the US Department of Agriculture pandemic program to provide no-cost meals to all public school students has ended. This school year, parents will either need to provide their students with money to purchase meals at school, send them with a packed lunch, or apply (and be approved) for free and reduced-price meals benefits.
Purchasing Student Lunches
Prices for meals are the same as they were before the pandemic in 2020. School breakfast for students costs $1.75. Lunch is $3.25 for elementary students and $3.50 for middle, secondary, and high school students.
The best way to purchase meals (and additional food items) is to use MySchoolBucks. Set up your student’s MySchoolBucks account online. If you have questions about MySchoolBucks, your school’s front office staff can help. Purchases made with MySchoolBucks keep cafeteria lines moving more quickly. Be ready on day one by setting up your child’s MySchoolBucks account, looking over the menus, and helping them learn their pin. You will receive an email from Food and Nutrition Services that includes your child’s pin.
There are three ways you can purchase lunch or breakfast for your child:
- Put money on your child's account online using www.MyschoolBucks.com. Once the account is open, parents can check the fund account at anytime.
- Check - Make checks payable to "Hunters Woods Food Services" and place in an envelope clearly marked HWES Food Services Manager. Please include your student's name and student ID number.
- Cash - Cash may be brought to the Food Service Manager's office for deposit on your student's account.
