Principal Message

Dear Marshall Road Families,

Our wonderful staff returned today and they are energized to begin the new school year.  They have enjoyed reconnecting with one another and are busy planning for the arrival of your children next Monday, August 22.

Later this week you will receive a mailing from us with information about our dismissal procedures.  Safety is our priority and we need your help to maintain all procedures.  We must know how every student is going home each day.  Please complete the Student Transportation Form for every child in your household who attends MRES and return it to your child’s teacher at Open House or have your child return it on the first day of school.  The Kiss & Ride and Dismissal Procedures flyers include important information that will keep students and staff safe as well as ensure that dismissal flows smoothly.  Please follow all arrival and dismissal procedures every day!  We appreciate your patience as dismissal will take a bit longer the first weeks of school as students get used to their routine.

We are excited to have you visit your child’s classroom at our Open House this Friday, August 19.  We are offering 2 sessions to reduce the number of people in the building at one time and to make parking a bit easier for all.  We encourage you to bring school supplies to Open House.  Please check your ParentVUE account to learn the name of your child’s teacher prior to Open House to ensure a smooth visit.  If you do not have a ParentVUE account, please call the main office for assistance.

      Session 1:  9:00-9:30 am      A - L (alpha last name)

Session 2:  9:45-10:15 am    M-Z (alpha last name)

Enjoy your last days of summer.

Peace.

Jennifer Heiges, Matt Chapman and Sue Kirby

PTA Update

Teacher & Staff Wishlists

Right now, our Marshall Road teachers and staff are hard at work planning for the year ahead, including gathering all the items they will need to make the year a success for our students.  Once you know your student's teacher assignments, it would be a great time to review the Teacher and Staff Amazon Wishlists on our website here. You will see lists for homeroom teachers, as well as specials teachers, and other specialists, all of whom go above and beyond for our students.  You can support our teachers and staff, and by extension all MRES students, by reviewing their Amazon wishlists and helping fulfill their wishes!

Join the PTA!

We encourage all MRES family and community members to join the PTA!  Visit our website to complete your membership.  Our calendar year runs July 1 - June 30, and memberships need to be renewed each year.  An annual membership is $15 for one parent /guardian, $10 for a second parent/guardian (a total of only $25 for a family), and just $10 for faculty and staff.

Join Us at Our Last Popsicle Play Date

Rising kindergarteners and new Marshall Road students, please join us for our last popsicle play date.  If you weren't able to attend a school tour in the spring, the school is offering a tour for kindergarten and new MRES families that morning as well.  Enjoy a tour and then come play on the playground and get a frozen treat!

Wednesday, August 17 at 9:00 am (school tour) and 10:00 am (play date)
