Important Information-

  • Children turning 5 on or before September 30 should be registered for kindergarten for the 2022-23 school year.
  • Now is the time for students to be registered. Schools are planning playdates, screenings, teacher visits, and other gatherings for kindergarten students to get to know their teachers and each other over the summer. Register soon to make sure you don’t miss out!

Cafeteria Help Wanted!

Looking for a way to support our school for a few hours each day?  We are in need of a dining attendant to help out during lunch.  Our dining attendant (a paid position) supports students during lunch, with working hours from 10:30 AM-1:45 PM.  Please contact our Administrative Assistant, Hector Collazo, at hrcollazo@fcps.edu, if you are interested!

Paperless Opt-Outs Available!

As a part of our ongoing efforts to streamline paper processes, parents can now select a number of opt-out’s electronically via ParentVUE.  Once you have signed into your ParentVUE account, simply select the “Student Info” tab and click on “Edit Information.” You will find opt-out’s listed there.  Parents that do not yet have a ParentVUE account will still be able to use paper forms for notification. If you need to set up your ParentVUE account, you can create one online via the FCPS ParentVUE Registration page.

Be Wise, Immunize! Required Vaccines for 2022-23 School Year

All students are required to be immunized against certain communicable diseases to attend school in the state of Virginia. It is important for all students to receive the required immunizations

Please talk with your family healthcare provider about whether or not your children are up to date on their vaccines before the new school year begins. Submit updated immunization records to your school as soon as possible.

More information on immunization requirements and the necessary documentation is available online.

Providing a Safe and Welcoming Space This School Year and Beyond

FCPS is proud of its caring culture and strives to provide a safe, welcoming, and inclusive space for all students and families. The Fairfax County School Board’s recently approved a Trust Policy that solidifies that commitment. It aligns with Fairfax County’s Public Trust and Confidentiality Policy to ensure that FCPS students and families can access FCPS benefits and services without fear that information will be disclosed, directly or indirectly, to federal immigration officials. FCPS’ new Trust Policy webpage will be live soon, with the policy and other important information available in eight languages. Please keep an eye out for the link in an upcoming issue of FCPS This Week.
