Greetings from the Main Office where the work of the summer is in full swing. We hope you are enjoying the summertime activities that the break affords. The weather has been good for summer! Below please find some very important information with regards to returning back to school this August. Also, please keep an eye on your email as more information is forthcoming that you will need.
Required Immunizations
If you have received communication from the school with regards to your student missing these important immunizations (Tdap & Meningococcal Conjugate (MenACWY) Vaccine, it is important to follow-up as these are required prior to the first day of school. If you have not done so, please bring in a current immunization record so that your student's file can be updated.
All students are required to be immunized against certain communicable diseases to attend school in the state of Virginia. It is important for all students to receive the required immunizations.
Please talk with your family health care provider about whether or not your children are up to date on their vaccines before the new school year begins. Submit updated immunization records to your school as soon as possible.

Several clinics are coming up soon in your area if your child needs an immunization to complete their records for the 2022-23 school year.

Remember to request documentation of your child’s immunizations and bring that to your school as soon as possible.
You can also make an appointment with your healthcare provider or visit the Fairfax County Health Department website for a schedule of child immunization clinics.

Free and Reduced Lunch
NEW for the 2022-23 School Year: Any family interested in free or reduced-price meals MUST submit a new application, even if your child has received free meals in the past.
Interested families are encouraged to submit the Free and Reduced-Price Meal application ten days prior to the first day of the 2022-23 school year. The online application will be available later this summer and accessible via the FCPS homepage.
Students approved for Free and Reduced-Price Meals may qualify for additional benefits such as waived or reduced fees for instruments, uniforms, field trips, FCPS class fees, and Partakes classes. Schools also benefit from funding opportunities based on Free and Reduced-Price Meal application numbers.

Almuerzo Gratis y Reducido
NUEVO para el año escolar 2022-23: toda familia interesada en que su estudiante reciba las comidas gratis o a precio reducido DEBE presentar una nueva solicitud, aunque su hijo haya recibido los alimentos gratis en el pasado.

Electronic Opt-Outs Available in ParentVUE
As part of our ongoing effort to help schools with transitioning from paper to electronic forms, we are excited to announce that the following opt-outs will be available in SIS ParentVUE beginning Friday, July 15:
- Tutor.com Access (was available April 2022)
- SEL Screener Participation
- Counseling Opt Out
- Transportation Intent
- Home Internet Access
Any parent/guardian that is associated with a student, and has a SIS ParentVUE account, can update these opt-outs, as needed, by going to the “Student Information” tab and clicking “Edit Information”. Parents that do not have SIS ParentVUE accounts can continue to use paper forms or other notification methods; or "Request" an activation key.
