Meet your MVHS Administrative Team


Here is a quick introductory video from our entire Admin Team: Meet our MVHS Administrative Team

Beginning this school year, students will be assigned by student’s last name, rather than by grade level, to an administrator who will serve as your child's sub-school assistant principal.  To support this shift, our school counseling assignments have also been adjusted to balance caseloads and foster collaboration.  This model allows assistant principals and counselors in each sub-school to work more closely as a team, and to address the needs of students on their shared caseload. It will also allow administrators to build relationships with whole families as the student’s progress through high school.  Each administrator will continue to work closely with their grade level (Class of) for class events, activities, and fundraisers, such as mulch sales, prom, and graduation.  See the chart below with our new admin and school counselor assignments.

Freshman and MVHS New Student Orientation – August 16, 2021 (9:00 am – 12:00 pm).  This is available to all freshmen, and optional for students new to MVHS.  Students will tour the building and learn about the school.  Transportation is being provided for those that need a ride that day.  All students who need a ride should report to one of the following Elementary Schools by 8:15am.

Fort Belvoir ES

Mount Vernon Woods ES

Washington Mill ES

Woodlawn ES

Students who do not need transportation should plan to arrive at Mount Vernon HS by 9:00am and enter using Door #4.  Once inside, students will be directed to their locations based on their last name.

“Majors Gear Up” – August 17, 2022 (*5:30 pm – 7:30 pm) Families will make connections with resources in our community, learn about new technology, join our PTSA, pick up laptops and schedules, and have an opportunity to receive school supplies.    *Doors will open at 4:30 for 1 additional hour of laptop distribution in G100 and the Auxiliary Gym.

First Day of School :-) - August 22, 2022 School hours are 8:10 - 2:55.  All students should enter through Doors 1, 4, or 6.

BTSN and Football Game – September 1, 2022 (BTSN - 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm); Football Game 7:30 pm) This will be an opportunity for families to meet teachers and learn about the curriculum and classroom procedures.  Immediately following this event, we invite everyone to join us as we destroy the Justice Wolves! :-)  There will be food, fun, games, and music.
