Dear Stenwood Families,
That’s a wrap! We have loved seeing all of the progress your children have made this year - we have so much to celebrate! Congratulations to our 6th graders, today we celebrated each and every one of them during the Promotion Ceremony! We will miss them as they transition on to middle school next year.
Thank you to the many volunteers who made this week so much fun! We had another fabulous Battle of the Books thanks to Mrs. Cole and Mrs. Roth, we had fun class parties, an amazing 6th grade party, and an impressive showing of talent during the Variety Show!
Thank you to Keith Hall who joined us for the last four weeks of the school year. Dr. Mitchell appreciates all of the love and positive thoughts you all have been sending her way. Her babies continue to get stronger every day!

Pre-order Sprout School Supply Kits for the Fall Before July 12th
Purchase your Fall school supply kit now and give yourself one last thing to worry about this summer. Be sure to choose the correct grade level supply kit for the upcoming school year 2022-23.
- Kits include everything on our Stenwood supply lists.
- This is not a PTA fundraiser. This option is offered as a convenient service to our parents. You can still shop for school supplies on your own.

Kits are shipped directly to the school. Your kit will be delivered to your child's classroom in August.
- For any questions or assistance with your order, please contact Sprout customer service.
- Last day to order is July 12th.

Summer Office Hours
Beginning next week, our office will be open from 9am - 12pm or by appointment. Please call the main office if you need to schedule an appointment, 703-208-7600.
Lost & Found
We will have the Lost and Found out under the tent in front of school from 9:00am - 2:00pm Monday - Wednesday this coming week, on Wednesday only, we will have it out until 6pm. Please come take a look. We will be donating all remaining items at the end of the week. |

Save the Date
We know we have a whole summer ahead of us, and we want to see all of our Stingers at Open House! Next year’s Open House will be on Thursday, August 18th! First day of school is Monday, August 22nd.
Enjoy Our School Grounds This Summer
School blacktops, playgrounds, outdoor basketball and tennis courts, and tracks are available for use by individuals (not organized groups) without being scheduled.
Many of you enjoy using school grounds for activities over the summer. Please keep the following in mind when using these facilities:
- Use is allowed from dawn to dusk, except during school hours or when being used for school activities or other scheduled programs.
- Facilities must be shared with anyone else who wishes to use them.
- Please leave the facilities as you found them. Remove any waste or debris from the property.

Preliminary Spring SOL Scores Available in ParentVUE
If your student took SOL tests this spring, you can view their scores in SIS ParentVUE now. Use a web browser to log into your SIS ParentVUE account: https://sisparent.fcps.edu. Scores are NOT viewable via the app, so make sure you are logging on through your computer. You will find spring SOL test performance levels and overall scores in the Test History section. You will also get an official score report in ParentVUE Documents by the end of July.

Free and Reduced-Price Meal Applications Due This Summer
The extension of the no-cost meals benefit to all students is expected to expire at the end of this school year, meaning families must submit an application and be approved to be eligible for free and reduced price meals for the 2022-23 school year. |

Interested families are encouraged to submit the Free and Reduced-Price Meal application before the first day of the 22-23 school year. The online application will be available later this summer and accessible via the FCPS homepage.
Students approved for Free and Reduced-Price Meals may qualify for additional benefits such as waived or reduced fees for instruments, uniforms, field trips, FCPS class fees, and Parktakes classes.

Stenwood’s Summer Reading Bingo!

Summer will be here before we know it and we want all Stingers to keep reading. All Stenwood students are encouraged to participate in Stenwood’s Summer Reading Bingo, Stingers are Readers. Similar to a Bingo game, students are encouraged to spend the summer reading using the Stingers are Readers bingo sheet as a guide.

All students who successfully complete a row, column or the diagonal and return the bingo sheet will receive a Stingers are Readers prize. All students will receive the Stingers are Readers bingo sheet with the final progress report. Keep it handy to track reading all summer!

Tech Adventure Camp!
There are still slots available for FCPS's Summer Tech Adventure Camp!
 Tech Adventure Camp (TAC) is a weekly exploratory camp designed to give students the opportunity to explore STEAM, culinary, health, trades, business and marketing areas. The camp is open to students in grades 2-6 during the 2021-22 school year.
Registration closes June 17th, 2022. Free and reduced lunch options and tuition assistance are available.
