Field Day

Field Day

We had a wonderful Field Day on Friday! The weather cooperated and fun was genuinely had by all.  A big think you to ALL the parent volunteers who helped out running stations. Finally, we owe a huge round of applause to Mr. Hickman and Mr. Van Trees for all the planning and preparations that went into a making Field Day a day of memories for all lions.

Yearbooks have arrived. We will be distributing them on Tuesday. If you ordered a yearbook, please be on the look out for it.

If your 3rd - 6th grade student took SOL tests this spring, you can view their scores in SIS ParentVUE now. Use a web browser to log into your SIS ParentVUE account: https://sisparent.fcps.edu. You will find spring SOL test performance levels and overall scores in the Test History section. You will also get an official score report in ParentVUE Documents by the end of July. Don’t have a ParentVUE account? Create one today: https://www.fcps.edu/resources/technology/student-information-system-sis-fcps/sis-parent-account-registration.

Medication Reminders

The school health room is reminding parents and guardians that all medication stored in the health room must be picked up no later than the student dismissal time (12:55 PM) on the last day of school June 10, 2022.  Medication left in the health room after that time will be discarded.  It is school policy that medications must be picked up by the parent or guardian.  Medication cannot be sent home with your student.

Medication authorization forms for next school year may be obtained from the school or online at https://www.fcps.edu/resources/student-safety-and-wellness/school-health-services.   A medication authorization form is required for any medication, prescription or over-the-counter, to be kept at school.

Questions may be directed to our Public Health Nurse in the Lemon Road health room or the School Health Aide: Ms. Carey Monts.

Free & Reduced Priced Meals Application

freee/reducedmeals

For the past two years, the federal government has provided no-cost meals to all public school students without the need to complete the annual Free and Reduced-Price Meal application. The extension of the no-cost meals benefit to all students is expected to expire at the end of this school year, meaning families must submit an application and be approved to be eligible for free and reduced price meals for the 2022-23 school year.

Eligible families are encouraged to submit the Free and Reduced-Price Meal application before the first day of the 2022-23 school year. The online application will be available later this summer and accessible via the FCPS homepage.

Students approved for Free and Reduced-Price Meals may qualify for additional benefits such as waived or reduced fees for instruments, uniforms, field trips, FCPS class fees, and Parktakes classes.

No-cost summer meals will be served at all FCPS summer school locations this year. Please visit our website for updated information during the summer.
