Laptop Collection

Students will return their FCPS-issued Dell laptop and power cord on Monday & Tuesday, June 6 & 7 during science classes. For students who are absent on collection days, we will have an additional collection at the beginning of the school day on June 8. Please check in with your child before June 6 to:

  • Remove stickers that have been added to the laptop. Note: please do not apply pressure to remove sticker residue, as this could damage the laptop. Any remaining residue can be removed by our tech team.
  • Check that the power cord your child brings to school is the Dell power cord given with the laptop. This is the only power cord that will be accepted. If a power cord is lost, families can pay the replacement cost ($23) on MySchoolBucks.com and students can show the emailed receipt when returning the laptop.

Once the laptop is returned, a receipt will be sent to your child’s Google (@fcpsschools.net) email. If the power cord is not returned with the laptop, the emailed receipt will indicate that. Thank you!

Library News

We have gotten the majority of books back, but still have many to collect.  All library materials need to be returned asap.   If the book has been lost, come and talk to Ms. Monk or Mrs. Gawalt in the library before school is out.

Irving’s SUMMER READ! Program is back!!!   Rising 7th graders and rising 8th grade students have the opportunity to participate in our SUMMER READ! Program this year.  Students pick books of their choice that meet the requirements of our reading “Bingo” card, and report via Google Form when they’ve finished reading each one.  For each book completed, students earn 1 ticket that is put into a raffle and earn 1 point for their school team for the 2022-2023 school year.  Students may earn up to 24 tickets.  Four student winners will be drawn from the tickets that are earned throughout the summer.  The prizes are $25 Barnes & Noble gift cards!

All students can open the SUMMER READ! bingo card through their FCPS Google account.  The Google form to fill out after students have read books is also available online at: https://bit.ly/WIMSSUMREAD2022
