Principal's Message

Dear Shrevewood Families,

Thank you to all the volunteers who supported Field Day today. It was so fun to visit all the stations and enjoy a fun-filled, student-centered event. We heard so much laughter and saw so many smiles from our students. We are so proud of the sportsmanship and comradery we observed. The weather was perfect to spend the day outside. Next week is the last week of school. It is hard to believe that the year is already coming to an end. We look forward to the many end of year celebrations we will have next week.

Thank you and have a great week,

Joshua DeSmyter, Principal

Susie Lilburn, Assistant Principal

School Supplies

It’s hard to believe that the 2021-22 school year is coming to an end! We know you are just thinking about summer now- but Back to School will be here before you know it! Order your child’s school supplies through the Shrevewood PTA and save yourself the hassle in August. Teachers have submitted their lists to Sprout so all you have to do is choose the grade level your child will be in for 2022-23 and sit back and relax! All supplies are delivered in boxes with your child’s name TO THEIR CLASSROOM before the first day of school.

Our school store is located at www.sproutsupplies.com and our code is SES004.  Order today! Store closes July 12!

Kindergarten Assessments Save the Date(s)

This summer our Kindergarten teachers will be hosting three dates and times for assessments. These assessments will provide our team with data that will help us balance the classroom placements. The data will also help us know more about your child’s learning style before the school year begins in August. Assessments will be completed by a kindergarten teacher in our school library and will take about 20 minutes. We will send a sign up next week.

We look forward to meeting our new students starting in July. If you have questions about the Kindergarten assessments, please contact our front office at 703-645-6600.

Kindergarten Assessment schedule:

(Wednesday July 6 from 9am -12pm then 1- 4pm)

(Wednesday July 27 from 9am – 12 pm, then 1 – 4 pm)

(Tuesday, August 2 from  9am - 12pm, then 1 - 4 pm)

Girls on the Run 5K

Thank you to everyone who participated in the 5K on May 22. The photos below are amazing! The girls all had such positive feedback about the event. We loved reflecting with them on this season earlier this week.

Coach Isha (our expert videographer) made this video to capture some of the day's best moments. Thanks, Coach Isha!

We are in the process of working out details for the fall season. Right now, it looks like practices might be Tuesday / Thursday mornings, before school. If anyone has any interest in coaching or supporting the coaching team, please reach out! My personal email is best: mollysherlock@gmail.com

Have a wonderful summer!
