Dear Poplar Tree Families,

We had another wonderful concert last night. It was exciting to hear our Chorus and 5th/6th grade strings students perform. They sounded great!

Itā€™s hard to believe that next Friday will be the final student day of the 2021-22 school year.Ā  As we say farewell to another school year, we also need to sadly say farewell to the following staff members who will be beginning new adventures.

Connie Combs, Kindergarten Instructional Assistant, retiring

Susan Nissen, Instructional Assistant, retiring

Katrina Hutzell, 1st grade teacher, moving to South Carolina

Dan Penley, 5th grade teacher, will be teaching PE at Floris ES

Denise Rohlfing, Public Health Assistant, transferring to Fairfax Villa

We wish them all the best and thank them for their years of service at Poplar Tree!

Have a wonderful weekend,

Take care,Ā

Sue Andujar, Principal

Carol Larsen, Assistant Principal

POPLAR TREE GRAD WALK 2022

Poplar Treeā€™s 2022 Grad Walk was a memorable one as we welcomed our 2016 graduates home.Ā  As the sounds of Rockinā€™ Panther played throughout our building, our students and staff cheered as the Seniors walked through our hallways once more. Afterwards, the Seniors stopped into classrooms to visit with teachers and students.Ā  For more pictures, follow us on Twitter @PoplarTreeES or @PTES_Counselors.

Congratulations, 2022 Graduates!

A message from

Ms. Johnson, band director

At Poplar Tree Elementary School we have great a thriving band program and we want your raising 5th or 6th grader to be a part of it! During the 2022-2023 school year students will meet in instrument specific classes once a week and come together as a large band two times per year for concerts. Students will have the opportunity to try all the instruments to find the best fit for them before they leave for summer. In order for me to know who wants to try the instruments and join band please fill out the Google registration form by June 6. Feel free to fill it out even if you aren't completely sure but are interested in joining next year.Ā
