End of Year Behavior Expectations

To finish the year strong and on a positive note, it is important that students understand that the same behavioral expectations apply.  Our normal SR&R expectations and consequences will continue to be utilized, including our school-wide “It’s Not Too Much Ask” guidelines.

  1. Being in class/assigned location on time
  2. Following the directions of every adult the first time
  3. Cell phone off and away
  4. Keep your hands and feet to yourself (self-control and no horseplay)
  5. Use appropriate language

On Thursday, June 9th each grade level will have special team activities and awards to celebrate the successful completion of a year full of obstacles in addition to all the accomplishments we have had individually and together.

Beginning Monday, June 6th students who demonstrate that they cannot abide by the 5 behaviors listed above will lose the privilege of participating in that fun event so that everyone else can have a positive experience.  On the day of the event, students who violate these guidelines will be asked to sit out in an alternate location or to be picked up by their family.

In addition, no backpacks or string bags will be permitted at school on Thursday, June 9th or Friday, June 10th

Students are being informed of these expectations and potential consequences in Unity Time on June 2nd so that there is no confusion.  We appreciate your support in reinforcing this message along with your own family’s expectations for positive behavior with your students at home.  We are so proud of our students and look forward to celebrating with everyone!

Sincerely,

Adam Erbrecht

Principal

The School Health Room Medication

The School Health Room is reminding parents and guardians that all medication stored in the Health Room must be picked up no later than student dismissal time on the last day of school, which is no later than 12:15 pm Friday, June 10th. Medication left after this time will be discarded. Medication cannot be sent home with your student.

Thank you

Rising 9th Grade Summer Program

Centreville High School is excited to offer our wildCat Connections orientation program to rising 9th grade students this summer.  This is an optional program designed and taught by Centreville High School staff members and student leaders to provide students with an opportunity to explore the building, meet classmates, and participate in interactive team building activities to help with a successful transition to high school.

The program will be held at Centreville High School on August 4 and August 9.  The time of the program will be 9:00 AM - 2:45 PM each day.  Students can choose one day to attend based on your availability.  We will have lunch available in the cafeteria, or students may bring their lunch.

Students should sign up for either August 4 or August 9 as the programming is the same for both dates.

Registration:

  • Register by June 25th to allow for proper planning

Transportation:

  • We are planning for bus transportation to be available from local elementary pick-up sites, and we will provide more bus details at a later date.

We look forward to meeting your child this summer.  We are confident that your student’s experience in the wildCat Connections program will help lead to a positive and successful start to the freshman school year.

There will also be a 9th grade orientation during the week of August 15th where students will follow their class schedule and meet their teachers.  More details about this event and the final date will be provided later this spring.

If you have any questions regarding the program, please contact assistant principal, Sarah Lutes, stlutes@fcps.edu
