Kindergarten Field Day Fun!
It's been a musical week! We were treated to concerts by chorus and strings!
Dear Parents-
We are excited for our 1-6 Field Day on Monday, June 6th. 4-6 grades will be from 9:30-12:00pm and 1-3 grades will be from 1:00-3:30pm. The kids have been working hard practicing their field day games and getting ready for all of the fun! Please remind them they are representing Oakton Elementary and to display good sportsmanship!!
A few reminders for your child to make sure they are prepared:
- Please have your child wear their grade level color shirt
- 1st Grade- purple
- 2nd Grade- green
- 3rd Grade- yellow
- 4th Grade- navy blue
- 5th Grade- red
- 6th Grade- class shirts (light blue)
- Wear SNEAKERS!!!! (please no boots, sandals or flip flops) If your child is not wearing sneakers it will not be safe for them to participate in the field day activities.
- Sunscreen, hat and/or sunglasses
- Water bottle labeled with your child’s name. (No sports drinks due to the sugary liquids attracting bees)
- There are a couple of water stations with the potential to get wet, so you may want to send a change of clothes and/or a towel to be prepared.
We are looking forward to this fun and exciting event!
Your PE Teachers,
Mrs. Castillejo and Mr. Kegerreis

For the past two years, the federal government has provided no-cost meals to all public school students without the need to complete the annual Free and Reduced-Price Meal application. The extension of the no-cost meals benefit to all students is expected to expire at the end of this school year, meaning families must submit an application and be approved to be eligible for free and reduced price meals for the 2022-23 school year.
Eligible families are encouraged to submit the Free and Reduced-Price Meal application before the first day of the 2022-23 school year. The online application will be available later this summer and accessible via the FCPS homepage.
Students approved for Free and Reduced-Price Meals may qualify for additional benefits such as waived or reduced fees for instruments, uniforms, field trips, FCPS class fees, and Parktakes classes.
