Lemon Road Community News 5.30.22

Message from Mrs. Castillo

Art Show

We hope you and your family enjoyed the long weekend, and had some time to reflect on the Memorial Day remembrances.

Last week we showcased our amazing artists in collaboration with the PTA and welcomed back graduating seniors from Marshall High School to Lemon Road - where they attended elementary school.  Congratulations Marshall High School Class of 2022! We are very proud of you.

Over the next two weeks, Lemon Road looks forward to closing out the year with many traditions, celebrations, and unique ways to create memories together.  First up is Field Day this Friday - see below for more details!  Next Monday we recognize our student leaders with a Service Picnic - all our patrols, SCA representatives and officers, Eco-Defense Squad members, news team, and recycling team members will enjoy a special outdoor lunch with their staff leaders.  Monday & Tuesday we will hear our students perform as a part of band, strings, or the chorus.  We are welcoming an outdoor assembly courtesy of the PTA - My Pet Alpaca is bringing a petting zoo for all our students (and staff) to enjoy.  Classes have their end of year parties next Wednesday and Thursday.  Finally, Friday we will recognize our students with awards ceremonies and a 6th grade promotion.  Information will be shared for parents that would like to watch any of the ceremonies on June 10 from home via Livestreaming.

Parent Reminders:

  • Order school supplies for next year through EPI: order here with school code:  LEM016

Field Day - Friday, June 3

Field Day

Lemon Road is SO excited for Friday - our first fully in-person field day in two years!  This is a beloved tradition.  Students are encouraged to wear a bathing suit under their clothes, bring a towel, bring a dry change of clothes and shoes, and wear sunscreen!  To ensure a smooth day, we need volunteers at both morning and afternoon sessions.  Please consider volunteering to run a station either in the morning, afternoon, or both - it is fun for students and volunteers alike!  Volunteer Here:

Become a Family Ambassador

Family Ambassador

At Lemon Road we value inclusivity in our community. We are building a team of Family Ambassadors to help welcome new families from our community and around the world. We hope that ambassadors will encourage new families to get involved by attending the various events at Lemon Road, joining the PTA, and become active members of our school community.

If you are interested in becoming an ambassador to Lemon Road Elementary please complete this form. If you have any questions about the program, please contact Mabel Morales at mvmorales@fcps.edu. Informal opportunities to connect with Mrs. Castillo, Ms. Ulsh, and Ms. Morales will take place this summer.  Thank you for helping us launch this important initiative for our community.
