Dear Freedom Hill Community,
We're hoping you're enjoying this unusually warm May weekend! The excitement continues at school, with many field trips, end-of-year events, and more. We'd like to wish a big congratulations to our 3rd-6th grade students and staff for completing their SOL assessments this year. We would also like to thank our PTA, Mr. Fenton, and our SACC crew who organized Friday's Outdoor Movie Night. Hope all had a great time!
Here's a quick reminder from our Front Office - our yearbooks are nearly sold out! There is normally a big rush to buy a yearbook once our pre-orders are delivered to the classrooms. Very few will be available, however. Make sure you pre-order (see below for details).
FCPS has seen a recent increase in COVID-19 cases and outbreaks and parents/legal guardians are reminded of the daily health screening requirement to check their students for mild, cold-like symptoms each day, such as fever, runny nose, cough, or shortness of breath. Please note - if your child received a negative COVID-19 test, but is still coughing, sneezing, or has a fever, they should still stay home. Influenza and the common cold are also transmissible, and we are doing our best to ensure our students and staff have healthy last few weeks of school!

Dear Parents,
This spring we are beginning to prepare for our annual fitness and field day. The theme is "Teamwork Makes the Dream Work". The event will take place on Friday, June 3rd. Kindergarten through Sixth Grade will be participating from 9:30-11:45am.
In order for the event to be successful, we need volunteers to assist in running the activities. Volunteers would need to arrive no later than 9:10am on the day of the event and stay until 11:50am to help with clean up.
If you can volunteer, please fill out the Sign-Up Genius form by Friday, May 27th. You will receive your activity assignment and details about Field Day through email shortly before the date. It’s been a few years but if you are a veteran parent, please let us know if you have a particular station you would prefer to be assigned to, and we will do our best to accommodate you. Thanks!!!

Yearbook sales for the 2021-22 school year have begun! We look forward to sharing our memories for this school year. The cost is $15 per book. There are four ways to purchase:
- Through your account on MySchoolBucks
- Exact cash in an envelope with your/your child's name
- Check made out to Freedom Hill in an envelope with your/your child's name

Thanks to those of us to joined us for the Outdoor Movie Night on Friday to watch Sing 2. Big props to Craig Fenton, our technology specialist, who took care the technology to make everything happen! Thank you so much! Also big thanks to Ben & Jerry's for coming out with their Food Truck and the SACC Team (Teresa, Tori, Kamal and Corey) who helped staff and organize the event.

END OF YEAR REMINDERS
Classroom Teachers and Room Parents: Make sure you are coordinating with each other 1) to use all the classroom funds by end of year and 2) make any additional purchases for field day (drinks, water, fruit, etc.). Pizza and Ice Pops will be covered by the PTA and served at Field Day this year and doesn't come out of classroom funds. If children do not want to eat pizza and ice pops, please have them bring a lunch as the cafeteria will be closed for other food that day.
