Sixth Grade Promotion Ceremony Thurs. 6/9 @ 6pm @ Sandburg Auditorium

Mark your Calendars, sixth grade families! The 6th Grade Promotion Ceremony will occur on Thursday, June 9th, 2022 at 6 pm in the Carl Sandburg Middle School auditorium.  A small reception will follow. More details will be forthcoming closer to that date.

Additionally, the 6th grade class picnic will be on Friday June 3rd.   Students will be transported by bus to Fort Hunt Park for games, music, pizza and more!

 

Family Resource Center Needs

Our Family Resource Center is in need of the following donations for our pre-school and older students:

- Pull-ups in sizes 2-3T, 3-5T, 6 L/XL

- Preschool size clothes and shoes- new or gently used

- Pants in youth sizes 10-16; YL, XL, XXL - new or gently used

Please place items in the red bins outside of the front office. Thank you!

 

Volunteer for 2022-2023!

You can help ensure the continued success of our wonderful PTA by volunteering for a committee with a minimal time commitment. No previous PTA leadership experience is necessary!

Hello SLES Families! This is Andrea Howard, your family liaison. My goal is to keep you informed about the valuable resources, events, and family engagement opportunities available through SLES, FCPS, and the community. Here are some of the latest resources and events I’d like to share with you:

Senior Day at Stratford Landing – Mon. 6/6 @ 2 – 3:30 pm

Attention ALL Graduating Seniors who attended Stratford Elementary School: It’s time to walk down memory lane! You are invited to the Senior Day event at Stratford Landing Elementary on Monday, June 6, from 2 – 3:30 pm. Seniors will get a chance to reminisce with friends and staff, have Q&A sessions with our current students, and walk down the hallways of SLES one last time in cap and gown for the “Grad Walk.” Please help spread the word and let us honor and celebrate you!

Wolf Trap Children’s Theatre-in-the-Woods: 6/21–8/6, Tues–Sat. Shows @10:30 am

Across the meadow from the Filene Center, literally tucked in the woods at Wolf Trap National Park, the Children’s Theatre-in-the-Woods has been a summer tradition for generations. Performances range from music and dance to puppetry and storytelling – interactive, educational, and fun. All shows are about an hour long and are perfect for children ages four and up.
