Message from Mrs. Castillo

Zoo Trip

It's been another great week at Lemon Road. Students have done incredibly well on end of year assessments and several grades have enjoyed field trips recently!  The end of the school year is just around the corner and we are looking forward to the many end of year celebrations - 6th Grade Day, Field Day, Concerts, parties, and the awards assemblies. Make sure to check our twitter and weekly newsletter for updates on how to get involved.

FCPS has seen a recent increase in COVID-19 cases and outbreaks and parents/legal guardians are reminded of the daily health screening requirement to check their students for mild, cold-like symptoms each day, such as fever, runny nose, cough, or shortness of breath. Parents and guardians are advised to keep their students home if sick and get them tested to help stop the spread of COVID-19.

Parent Reminders:

  • Order school supplies for next year through EPI: order here with school code:  LEM016
  • Sign up to visit classrooms to support college and career week: May 23 - June 3
  • Please volunteer for Field Day (AM or PM) on Friday, June 3

Outdoor Movie Night - Friday

Movie Night

Join us for the last outdoor movie night of this school year! On Friday, May 20th, arrive beginning at 6:30 PM to secure a spot on the blacktop and purchase refreshments.  Entrance is free to attend and the movie will start at 7 PM. Space will be available for blankets up front and lawn chairs in the back.  Encourage your child to vote in the lobby to determine which movie we will show Friday night! Will it be Encanto, Sing 2, or Raya the Dragon?  The winning selection will be announced on Friday’s news show. The PTA will be selling pizza by the slice or pie and dessert options!

PTA Polo Update & Request

Polos

It has been a tradition of the Lemon Road PTA to provide a free polo to every student to wear on Fridays and on field trips throughout the school year. However, due to the current global supply chain issues, the price of polos has nearly doubled. In an effort to hopefully continue this tradition we ask that you please complete the following short google survey so that we can gather info for our future PTA budget.  Click here: LRES Polo survey

LRES Art Show Coming Soon

Art Show

The Art Show is returning to Lemon Road this spring!  The PTA and school have partnered with ArtoMe to have every Lemon Road K-6 student’s artwork framed and displayed for a professional show on Thursday, May 26 from 6 - 8 PM.  Please join us and celebrate the amazing artists we have at Lemon Road and enjoy a dessert treat.  Parents have the opportunity to purchase the framed piece before or during the show.  All artwork not purchased will be returned to the student at the end of the year.

Flippin Pizza Restaurant Night

Help keep our students reading over the summer by donating books for the Summer Bookmobile. The book drive will run May 16 - 27. Please be sure books are in good condition and are free of any writing and names. Books can be dropped off in the colorful bins around the school or outside Library Door #5.
