Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all of the wonderful ways that the PTA and parents showed their appreciation for our teachers and staff this week. We were fed throughout the week, our doors were decorated, we received supplies, we were treated to our favorite things, and received many special personalized notes and cards - thank you! Other excitement from last week included the Annual 3v3 Basketball Tournament, Walk/Bike/Roll to School Day, Principal for the Day, and the start of the Virginia SOLs! Can’t wait to see what this week brings.
As you have likely noticed, FCPS has seen a recent increase in COVID-19 cases and outbreaks and parents/legal guardians are reminded of the daily health screening requirement to check their students for mild, cold-like symptoms each day, such as fever, runny nose, cough, or shortness of breath. Parents and guardians are advised to keep their students home if sick and get them tested to help stop the spread of COVID-19.
Happy Mother’s Day to all!
The Healthy Table will be up and running every Wednesday under the white tent behind the school from 2:45 - 3:20, and we look forward to seeing folks there for healthy, cost effective produce and eggs.

Determining class placements for the next school year begins each spring and lasts through the summer months. The grade level teachers, specialists, and administrators meet to plan classroom assignments. A variety of factors such as student personalities, friendships, and academic strengths/needs are considered as we create our classes. Lemon Road families can assist us with class placement by sharing their insights about their child specifically using this form. Rising kindergarten families will receive a more detailed survey in July. Completion of the form is optional: however, the deadline for submission is May 13, 2022. Please complete one form per child.
Next week our school community will be focusing on a review of the 24 character strengths and the Other People Mindset. Over the course of this year, we have gained an understanding and appreciation of the 24 character strengths that are in all of us. Every 1-2 weeks we learned about a different character strength or Other People Mindset element. This knowledge has helped us build strong relationships with other people and become our best selves.
