Dear Stenwood Families,
We had a wonderful week celebrating our teachers and staff! Thank you to all those who contributed to showering our staff with much deserved tokens of appreciation- your kind words and gestures matter! While we dedicate this week to teacher and staff appreciation, please know it's never the wrong time to spread kindness in our community; a kind note or email for the love and time our staff give each and every day is always appreciated. Check out the pictures below to see the joy that was shared this week!

As the weather gets warmer in the afternoons, our Lost and Found is growing. Our amazing Photo Bees, with the help of Mrs. Krum, have digitally photographed the collection. Here is a Lost and Found Video Slideshow of the items through last week. |
If you see any items that belong to your family, please reach out to our Family Liaison, Maria Agha magha@fcps.edu with the item number(s) of the items you are missing and she will help return them to your family. We will create a new video in May with items between now and then.
SOL Dates for 3rd-6th Graders
Students in our school will be taking the SOL tests between May 3rd and May 27th. Here is the specific schedule for your child’s SOL tests:
Please notify Meredith Mitchell (mamitchell@fcps.edu) if you become aware of an unavoidable conflict that could result in missing a SOL test day or if you have questions about state assessments.
Positivity Project:
#OtherPeopleMatter-Outro Week
|
|
This week, we were working on reviewing our year-long exploration of Character through the Positivity Project. During these last thirty-four weeks, we have learned that our character is a family of thoughts, feelings, and actions that are recognized and encouraged across our different cultures for the values they cultivate in people and society. |
Our character is complex. It is the combination of our thoughts, feelings and actions. Just like other things in our life, we have strengths and weaknesses of character, as well. As you spend time together at home, now and throughout the summer, consider the following questions:
- Why are our strengths important?
- How can knowing our weaknesses in character help us grow?
- How can you challenge yourself to be the best possible version of yourself?
"Character, not circumstance, makes the person.”
