Spring Hill ES Panther Press

A Note from Principal Eck

Dear Spring Hill Families,

We were overwhelmed by the love that families, led by the efforts of the PTO, showered upon our staff this week! We've enjoyed boxed lunches, food truck tacos, pastries, and afternoon tea and treats. Not to mention flowers and cards! Our staff works so hard every day and is grateful for the appreciation shown not only this week but all year round. Our hearts are full, and we thank you!

This week marked the beginning of SOL testing. These tests can be one of many important opportunities for students to demonstrate the learning they have done this school year. On days when your student is scheduled to take an SOL test, please ensure that they get a good night’s rest, eat breakfast and come to school ready to show what they know! You can find the schedule below.

Happy Mother's Day to all our Spring Hill Mothers and Grandmothers. Enjoy your weekend!

Positivity Project

Next Week’s Positivity our school community will be focusing on a review of the 24 character strengths and the Other People Mindset

Over the course of this year, we have gained an understanding and appreciation of the 24 character strengths that are in all of us. Every 1-2 weeks we learned about a different character strength or Other People Mindset element. This knowledge has helped us build strong relationships with other people and become our best selves

Stay Home When Sick

Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) continues to monitor cases and report COVID-19 outbreaks, as outlined by the Virginia Department of Health. Currently, Fairfax County's Community Level remains low as determined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and our layered prevention strategies are being implemented based on our COVID-19 Community Level, as recommended by the CDC.

However, FCPS has seen a recent increase in COVID-19 cases and outbreaks, and parents/legal guardians are reminded of the daily health screening requirement to check their students for mild, cold-like symptoms each day, such as fever, runny nose, cough, or shortness of breath. Parents and guardians are advised to keep their students home if sick and get them tested to help stop the spread of COVID-19.
