Staff Appreciation Week!

This week is Staff Appreciation Week!  Please read this message below from our PTO President, Paul Monsky.  The PTO has planned and organized a wonderful week for our staff, with the hopes that you can help!

 

Hello Families of Glen Forest ES,

This week is Staff Appreciation Week at Glen Forest Elementary.  We have an opportunity to demonstrate our appreciation for the staff and administrators at Glen Forest and all the time they've spent helping our children this last year.  With that in mind, we've put together a daily schedule with various ways to shower the staff with appreciation.

On Monday, teachers, aides, specialists, custodians, cafeteria workers, etc., will receive thank you notes from the kids.  These went home in the Tuesday folder.  It's not too late!  If your child brings these to school tomorrow morning, please have them deliver to the front office in the mornig.  In addition, some entrance beautification will occur beginning on Sunday at 2:00pm for staff to see the following morning.

On Tuesday, the PTO will be taking a snack cart around to all the rooms so that staff can select from a variety of sweets.  Any parent who can help with distributing the sweets beginning at 10:30 on Tuesday, please volunteer.  We only need a handful of volunteers to help.  If you can help on Tuesday, please reach out to me, Paul Monsky, at psmonsky@outlook.com. 

On Wednesday, the PTO is going to host a Popcorn bar (popcorn topped with a variety of toppings of the staff's choice) in the break room/teacher's lounge.  We could also use volunteers to help pop the popcorn and man the popcorn bar on Wednesday, starting about 10:00 and going to about noon.  Again, we only need a few volunteers, so please email me if you can help at psmonsky@outlook.com. 

On Thursday, parents are bringing in food items for the staff to eat during their breaks all day.  If you're planning on donating a dish, please don't forget to drop it off Thursday morning as previously indicated in the flyer sent home in your child's "Tuesday Folder."  This is the day when we would appreciate help from a handful of volunteers throughout the day.  We need help to collect the food donations at morning drop-off, and to serve food and clean-up during the day.  If you are able and willing to help it would really be appreciated.  Even if it's just for an hour or two on Thursday anytime between 9:00a and 3:00pm.  Please let me know at psmonsky@outlook.com. 

Friday, we will be providing coffee and donuts to the staff.  Also, all week long there will be raffles for staff members to receive gift cards and staff members who find the hidden Eagle each day will receive a gift card.

Next week should be a great week for the staff at Glen Forest and I hope many of you will be able to help in some way.  Thank you for your support!

Hola a todos,

Esta semana es la Semana de Agradecimiento al Personal en Glen Forest Elementary. Tenemos la oportunidad de demostrar nuestro aprecio por el personal y los administradores de Glen Forest y por todo el tiempo que dedicaron a ayudar a nuestros niños este último año. Con eso en mente, hemos elaborado un programa diario con varias formas de colmar de aprecio al personal.

El lunes, maestros, ayudantes, especialistas, conserjes, trabajadores de la cafetería, etc., recibirán notas de agradecimiento de los niños. Estos se fueron a casa en la carpeta del martes. ¡No es demasiado tarde! Si su hijo trae el sxe a la escuela mañana por la mañana, pídale que lo entregue en la oficina principal en la mañana. Además, se llevará a cabo un embellecimiento de la entrada a partir del domingo a las 2:00 p. m. para que el personal lo vea a la mañana siguiente.

El martes, el PTO llevará un carrito de refrigerios a todos los salones para que el personal pueda elegir entre una variedad de dulces. Cualquier padre que pueda ayudar con la distribución de dulces a partir de las 10:30 el martes, por favor sea voluntario. Solo necesitamos un puñado de voluntarios para ayudar. El miércoles, el PTO organizará una barra de palomitas de maíz (palomitas de maíz cubiertas con una variedad de ingredientes elegidos por el personal) en la sala de descanso/salón de maestros. También podríamos usar voluntarios para ayudar a preparar las palomitas de maíz y atender la barra de palomitas de maíz el miércoles, comenzando alrededor de las 10:00 y terminando alrededor del mediodía.
